Ok, just checked Broadway.com, and look!

I'm quite disappointed. I mean, she's great and all, but I wanted a fresh interpretation on the role.
We've SEEN her before. Gah.
Well, let me be the first one to say, "WAHOO!"
I was completely underwhelmed when I heard the concept for this, my favorite musical.
Now I have a reason to see it umpteen million times!
Wow, am surprised. While I love her, I am not a fan of her interpretation of the role on the concert recording.
Yea for Patti!
I was really hoping Cyndi Lauper might get it. I too am not crazy about Lupone's Mrs. Lovitt. This is my favorite musical and had planned to fly in just to see it. If Lupone gets it, I will stay in Denver.

Adore Patti but not too crazy about her Lovett. I was actually kind of excited to hear of the possibility of seeing Cyndi Lauper up on that stage. Regardless, we have a production of Sondheim's masterpiece back on Broadway and should be all thankful. Patti's a fine performer and I'm sure will give it her best and her all.

One of Patti's problems is that she is AWEFUL with dialects. Noises Off and the concert of Sweeny Proved that. And if you then add on that you can't understand her when she sings withOUT the dialects... it just gets scarry.
I really would have liked to see Cyndi in this role, but I love Patti!
I hope this is true. I am going to New York next May. I would go crazy if I could see a name such as Patti LuPone on Stage.
I'm quite pleased. I think LuPone was excellent in the concert version, and her marquee-value will help ensure that this revival will get seen.
Though I love patti, Id like to see someone new play the role but if its true that Micheal Cerveis is playing Todd then I think the 2 together will be incredible.
Agreed. I am not a fan of Passion but I LOVED the two of them together.

UGH. I've seen Patti do some amazing things, but her Lovett in the concert version was not one of them. Maybe with a different director she'll do better...

Gee, I really liked her concert version. I'll definitely make my way to NY to see this now.

I'm just excited to get the opportunity to see LuPone on stage.
It's going to be very hard after one of her big numbers not to yell, "SHUT UP PATTI LUPONE! SHUT YOUR BRASSY, MAGNIFICENT TRAP!"
You have to be a "Will and Grace" fan to get that line. Anybody see that episode?
YOu hate Passion Bwaysinger? Then I hate you!!!
I just want to see Patti Lupone play the trumpet.
This is wonderful news! I've been waiting for Patti to do another Broadway musical.
Hmmm..so I might get to see Patti "Bump it with a trumpet?"
Ok this is where I get yelled at for calling myself a Sweeney Fan but what is with these insturments. Why are the actors playing them and what is it about. Im just really confused.
Princeton, Patti will definetly bump it with a trumpet, at least, that's what I'll be yelling at her when I see the show.
Princeton - "My head was practically in your lap...Did I get the part?"
Also from that episode. Love it!
Hehehe...
"I don't want to hear you sing, I don't want to cut your hair, and I certainly don't want to hear you sing while I'm cutting your hair! Now I'm trying to have a conversation with my friend, so BACK OFF BUENOS AIRES!"
