This is more of a concept but i'd like to see them in a piece very loosely inspired by the last years of Liberace, or a similar figure. With Groff as the younger lover.

If Judy Garland had lived into the 70s, and managed to stay healthy and in good voice, I would have loved to hear her interpretations of some of the great Sondheim diva roles: Joanne from Company, Sally from Follies, Desiree from A Little Night Music, and Mrs. Lovett from Sweeney Todd. I particularly think she would have made a fantastic Joanne and Desiree, and she would have had a wonderful chance to show off her acting chops as well as her vocal prowess as those sensational and complex characters. Just having an album of her singing songs from the Sondheim canon like "The Ladies Who Lunch", "Losing My Mind", "Send in the Clowns" and the "Worst Pies in London" gives me chills.

^I think the only one of those roles she could play on stage without a drastic key change would be Joanne. Sally is almost laughable to me, Judy had she lived to that point would have been a much better Carlotta. I'm not saying she wouldn't do a wonderful losing my mind on CD with her own arrangement, but with the current arrangements no. Desiree maybe.
Garland and "Not While I'm Around" are a staggering combo.
