Oh, it's "Dame" now. Always on top of the details!
Why go? You'll just follow me stalker boy.
Anyway, back to the original topic: How do they handle the quartet in the show?
Oh believe me... You will definitely know when it is me on top! ( Of the details I mean)
I'm not surprised Robert Taylor enjoyed this article...
I was hoping, Pirag, you'd cut the snarky attitude for the review. I was sadly dissapointed.
Why are you going for laughs? Through all of the dumb metaphors and jokes and catty remarks, I can't really decipher this mess of yours.
I get that you didn't like it but it's all just way too much - you're way too bitter as a high school student. It's scary.
There is no quartet
Your in the wrong bathhouse then.

don't tell that to me, tell that to Robert Taylor who thinks there is a quartet
I apologize. I was talking about the "Tonight" number. My mistake.

which would be a quintet
I got that. I had an "oops" moment. Thanks for pointing it out Pianolin
And am still curious as to how they staged it.
"Would you recommend that someone who has never seem a Broadway revival of the show go see it or should I not waste my money even though I love the music?"
As I said in PalJoey's thread I was a year old the last time this show was on Broadway. So this, particular, production was my first opportunity to see it staged. I would recommend checking it out to form your own opinion. There are things definitely worth the price of admission. The opportunity to hear the score live on a real Broadway orchestra versus on CD, the performances of Karen, Curtis, and Josephina, and the opportunity to see WSS on Broadway.
It's not a perfect revival by any stretch of the imagination. But it's not a "hot mess" either. I'll probably go back when Matt Cavanaugh is on vacation. I want to see his standby.
As I am sure they have pretty much kept the staging of it, its pretty intense. I loved it, but, then again, I had never and still have not seen the movie and have only seen a very weak regional/student production... so, since you have only seen pretty much the same, I would say see it
Thanks Pianolin. I've only seen the movie and one very cheaply done community production where Anita wasn't even onstage during the song...so I'm very curious about that part of the show. It was SO good in the movie, if I see this version I just hope that section lives up to my expectations.
It was staged very well (and with Anita on stage), though at the performance I saw in DC, the sound was way off and I could barely hear Karen at all. All in all, though, very powerful...and one of the few parts of the evening I truly loved.
Gee PiraguaGuy2, perhaps you should see about having the medication increased. It's obviously not working and the next time you have a nervous breakdown in a theater, just keep repeating,"It's only a show", quietly to yourself, of course. Then try to keep the rocking back and forth to a minimum as to not upset the rest of the audience.

I gotta echo PJ here, the over-use of the Laurents/Chorus Boy thing was really distracting.
Maybe Piraqua guy was a bit over with the chorus boy thing,
but if you read Laurents book, you might think he's right.
Instead of discussing the putting together of two amazing original musicals he talks about his sexual prowess.

I found the repetition of "Arthur" to be too much. "Mr. Laurents" might work better and cut down on the bullying "Glengary Glen Ross" tone.

This was a humorous review of a Broadway show guys, not a sixth grade English creative writing assignment.

Right, but you need to work on your humor...it came off as a mix of humor/overdoing it.
Also, use bold sparingly, it can be effective, but a large block makes it annoying.
Where was the humor?
I'm just a snarky b*tch.
You're a snarky b*tch who tries to be funny while doing it. Why bother? Especially since it's NOT funny.
...I thought it was funny.
