POTO Question

Do they make a new mask for every phantom or are there a few mask that each new phantom must work it?

re: POTO Question

They are made specifcally for the actor.

The doubles get any one that fits the best.

re: POTO Question

It's a new mask for each Phantom cast from their face mold. It involves plaster and straws shoved up their nostrils.

Has anyone since Michael Crawford used the cloudy contact lens for one eye?

re: POTO Question

Did he even use them for the entire run? In most of the production photos I've seen it looks like he isn't, though it's very hard to see his eyes. I almost feel like the only photo I've seen of him wearing the cloudy lens was in the companion book where they show the step-by-step of getting his makeup on.

re: POTO Question

He could not see properly and honestly that is such a monor detail that only the first few rows would notice, so it was ditched

re: POTO Question

What I do when I feel like dressing as the phantom is I use cream face paint and eyeliner around it, it really looks like a mask
