Tonights episode had a flashback of Peter and Lois going to see Phantom of the Opera. Peter was screaming at the Phantom to take take off his mask and see what was under it. It was really funny! Anybody else see it?

I like that the lyrics were wrong, but still fit the tune!

Yeah. I just saw that. I think that Seth McFarlane has a love for theatre, I mean come on he did a whole episode about stewie getting into it, and he has also had clips of farting contests in the style of Oom Pah Pah and Stewie singing Old Man River. There are other examples but I just can't think of them.

Yea, it's exciting to think of what they will use next...

They've used scenes from Little Shop of Horrors, Cats, West Side Story, Grease and now they can add Phantom of the Opera to the list

If you watch the Family Guy movie with the comentary on Seth McFarlen says that he's a big musical theater nerd.

Yeah there's an episode where Stewie's doing stand up and he's getting booed and one guy calls out "This is worse than Seussical!"
Also don't forget the episode with the Gypsy send-up... "I had a dream....a dream about you, Meg Griffin."
I should listen to the commentary. I always had an inkling he was a musical nerd. In any case, he has a fantastic voice.

They did all of Telephone hour from Bye Bye Birdie too. Also let's not forget the So Long Farewell scene from The Sound of Music. There's also that spoof on stuntcasting when Stewie and Brian go to see Les Miserables to find that Kirk Cameron is playing Valjean.

Shoot! I missed it tonight! I'll have to catch it when they repeat it. I love the Kirk Cameron as Jean Valjean bit! "How lucky are we! Curtain up!" And when the creepy old guy sings "Somewhere that's Green!" ha!
