It would need to start selling, but also its extension chances are limited by Some Like it Hot beginning previews November 1st. If it starts selling it could extend through labor day or mid September at latest.
If it really does start selling though it could transfer to the Broadhurst with a new cast, but in truth if they are spending money to move the show it would make more sense to set up shop off-bway at New World Stages alla The Play that Goes Wrong.

A show featuring big names (i.e. many of whom likely have other commitments lined up) that's playing to 69% capacity with an average ticket price of $44.00? Never say never, but....never.
If it even makes it through its scheduled run it will be an achievement. It has 3.5 more months until August 14. Even in the unlikely event that Dratch wins Featured Actress, it's not going to move ticket sales substantially.

Exactly. I don't wish ill will on it by any means so I hope I'm wrong, but if this gets shut out in the Tony noms next week, I'm not certain it makes it through Memorial Day. So an extension past August seems highly unlikely.
Correct –– this isn't being snarky, it's merely economics. When a show is doing as poorly as this has done in previews, and then gets polite but not rave reviews, it's hard to improve drastically. Especially when playing in an enormous theatre.
