Here's hoping that a Blu-ray release follows suit.

Yes! Too bad it looks like Lee Pace has a devil horn.
I just realized this show never returned after the strike. Did they get picked up for next season? Same thing for the Grey's Anatomy spin-off.
It is returning next season along with the Grey's spinoff, "Private Practice."

Hurray!
I love the blurb on the back!
I already pre-ordered from Amazon, can't wait.
Yes, both shows were picked-up and will be returning this fall. The reason it did not return was simply because it was a fill-in series, it didn't start during the regular fall schedule therefore it was only intended to less than half the normal schedule of a regular series. All of the intended 1st season episodes were completely filmed before the Writer's Strike occured. Other series which had short 1st seasons were THE OFFICE, LIPSTICK JUNGLE (which IS returning next season) and even THREE'S COMPANY.
The heading of the PUSHING DAISIES DVD should have given you more validation.
If it wasn't returning it would be titled: THE COMPLETE SERIES.

Raúl Esparza/Alfredo will be back on next season!
Anyone else PRAYING for a Cheno/Esparza duet on the show? I know I am.
Craptasic as far as bonus features. That's dissapointing.

Huh???? The show premiered October 3rd, literally the week after the major ABC fall shows (UGLY BETTY, GREY'S ANATOMY, BROTHERS & SISTERS, etc) had begun, and during the week where many other new fall shows were premiering. The show was picked up for a full season and there were plans for the show to return after the strike (Bryan Fuller even gave a few hints about what was coming up for the characters after his cliff-hanger in the last pre-strike episode). Once it became obvious that the WGA strike would last longer than most anticipated, lots of shows realized they wouldn't be able to write new scripts and get them produced in time. PUSHING DAISIES was one of them since due to its production values, it wasn't possible for the show to get 4-5 episodes on the air after the strike like most shows did.
No scripted series had a full season this past TV season, which is why many are getting a super-sized season this upcoming '08-'09 TV season.

Brody,
It's already been announced on Blu-ray:

I stand corrected.
Thank you, ray-andallthatjazz86.
I guess I had way too many blueberry pies this morning and wasn't thinking about what the hell I was writing.
I put off watching this for a while because I assumed it would suck like the rest of Chenoweth's film work.
Boy, was I wrong. LOVE this show; can't wait for season two!
Wait, Pushing Daisies is being made into a Broadway show?
I assume you're being snarky about the fact that this was posted on the Broadway board. But . . . no.
Well then why is it here? Because of Chenoweth?

I'm assuming it's here because a lot of the cast (not just Chenoweth) have theatre backgrounds.
Like who? (I didn't watch it)

Lee Pace
Raúl Esparza (has a recurring role)
Ellen Greene
Swoosie Kurtz
and Anna Friel
have all done work on stage, on or off Broadway.
Anna Friel
Kristin Chenoweth
Swoozie Kurtz
Ellen Greene
Jim Dale (he's the narrator)
And an endless roster of Broadway actors, including Raul Esparza.
I particularly enjoyed Chris Sieber, although he struck me as awfully short in that episode. How tall is he? I always feel like he should be about 6'4" or something, but I totally have no idea how tall he actually is. O_O
I wish this were being released sooner. I decided to not watch last year and wait for the DVD, so I'm hoping this gives me enough time to watch before next season.
Anyone else get this? SSSSOOOO excited for this coming season, just 2 weeeks away!!
I think I shall buy this on Blu-ray
I had pre-ordered on Barnes & Noble and got it the day it was released! I love this show so much and I cannot wait for October to get here!
