Has anyone ever purchased tickets throught TDF and was unable to attend the performance?

I'm wondering if TDF tickets can be past-dated like tickets purchased normally for a show. Thanks.

That's up to the individual box office, you'll have to check with them. TDF has nothing to do with it.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Thank you for the reply. I assumed since I purchased it through TDF they would be the ones to make the decision. I also don't have the physical ticket since I never picked it up. It's still at the Neil Simon Theatre.

You just bring your order confirmation that you print out from TDF, and they should be able to look it up from that.

I once had tickets to see Twilight Los Angeles on TDF. I took the tickets out when my friend went to the ladies room before we left the old Hamburger Harry's.
They were for the next day. I said "Oops, these are for tomorrow. But lets go to the box office." Manager said "at least you are at the right theater." The ticks were for the mezzanine and they sat us fifth row orchestra..So my brain deadness paid off...

I am having an exercise in futility trying to get the box office @ Rocky to past date tickets. I keep trying everyday but no luck so far.

I have been trying with Rocky also and they seem to NOT want to past date tickets.
I don't understand because they have consistently had tickets up on TDF also.

I've generally had pretty good experiences with past-dating, but I recognize that it's not a box office obligation. It's a courtesy, not a requirement.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

Add to that the fact that you can only get them mid week. I would like to see it but not buying tix again. If I do not see it life will go on. Wondering if u go directly to the box office if you have a better chance.

I had tickets to the first actual preview and was initially snowed in. I called telecharge to get the box office phone # and they said they handle box office issues. I let them know the tkt was from tdf and was told I could past date it on a Tues, Wed, or Thursday. They said to just call telecharge customer svc directly on the day of the performance and they would check with the box office for me. Maybe they allowed it bc of the snowstorm that day but it might be worth a try.

I have been doing that to no avail.

Just tried @ 11:01 same answer. This is an exercise in futility. I will get one of those naughty ones and see it that way. Learned a lesson. In bad weather book only that day when you know you can go

Good luck to others in the same boat.

I have good luck with the Telecharge reissuing back dated tickets on Broadway. I had an used TDF for "A Man's A Man" & was told to call the Classic Stage directly and I had no problem either

I have given up on this. Not worth the aggravation. Telecharge told me visiting the box will do no good and they will not give you the box office # under penalty of death. They can stick them where the sun doesn't shine. No show is worth this b.s.

good lord....Rocky hasn't been previewing all that long for you to be fed up that they haven't yet been able to post date your tickets.

They do not HAVE to do so ever, so if it takes a bit of effort on your part, what's the big deal?

Ok. I may have some info.
Tonight, my bus for some reason passed right by me, and I had to take a later one. Due to god awful Jersey traffic, I missed my performances of BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY. I did have a TDF ticket. I went to the box office to ask about past dating. They gave me my ticket and a letter from the Shuberts about past dating. The letter basically states that you can past date a Shubert show during the week. You must call (212) 239-6210 after 11:00am (or after 3:00pm for Weds evening performances) on the day that you would like to see the show and they will try to accommodate you.
It does state that you cannot be seated without your original ticket. So you would have to ask them how to go about this without your ticket.

Bumping this. I bought a TDF ticket for An American in Paris last night and was unable to attend. Does anyone have any experiences with trying to past date with a TDF ticket recently? I'm not sure if they will accommodate me or not since it is a TDF ticket (which I totally understand), but I thought I would check and see if anyone here has any new insights or stories! My ticket was at will call, so I do not have the actual ticket to take with me to the box office.

I believe it's a theater-by-theater basis. I was able to past-date a ticket to "It Shoulda Been You" last year by a couple days.

I just wanted to state that I had to do this for Disaster. I had tickets for the first performance, and caught a stomach bug the day of and was unable to attend. I was really upset because I had no idea how to do it without having a pair of actual tickets. I tried calling telecharge who then directed me to Jujamaycn who then sent me directly to TDF (who aren't much help as they clearly state no refunds or exchanges).

Finally I just decided to go to the box office and try my luck. First I wanted to say I read in the other thread about how people were not friendly at this box office, I had the opposite experience. I arrived at 6pm (show was at 7 that night) and the box office attendant took my TDF confirmation, looked up my tickets and happy exchanged them for that nights show...with a smile!

Anyway just wanted to give people a note on this because it definitely is a bit of a grey area and can be confusing. Not saying this will work every time, but going to the box office is definitely worth a shot!
