Snooze. Why do we need another bio-jukebox musical right now? We still have Beautiful, Jersey Boys and On Your Feet on Broadway. I like her music just fine...but I don't have any curiosity about her life behind the music.

Compared to Benatar, King's and JB's catalogues are far more prolific and well-known. That's not a total shock. Benatar, on the other hand, is somewhat shocking. Neither she nor her music are really that beloved... As popular as it may have been at the time.

This seems like the most obscure source material yet for a jukebox musical. I think the appeal is more limited than any current or past jukebox shows. Not that I don't like some Pat Benatar songs but still, seems odd...

This isn't a new score, its her music, unlike Simon and The Capeman.
I think this could work, especially if it tackles 80s MTV culture.

The GloEst story in her musical, OYF, was, at best, borderline interesting. Not interesting enough for me to put it on my itinerary in my last two visits.
This one not so much.
What makes the Carole King catalog so fascinating is how many artists recorded her work. That was a story that could be nicely developed.
