Wow. I was just watching him in the film "11:14" last night. As usual, a great, authentic performance. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

Sending my love and condolences to his wife Lisa and mom Patsy. Patrick was a cornerstone of my youth, appearing in many of my fave films including The Outsiders, Red Dawn, Dirty Dancing, Roadhouse and To Wong Foo. Rest in peace, Patrick. You are an icon and your talent lives on.

In addition to being fun to watch in films, he had a great sense of humor. He will always be remembered for the SNL Chippendales parody. Boy he looked good...

It is sad, but as I always say if the person has cancer and they are not going to get better, at least let them go quickly.

He did not go gently into that good night. He fought the cancer, like a dancer battling a sprain and lived with it longer than most pancreatic cancer patients.

PJ, I think FrontRow is assuming, as I am, that the cancer probably suddenly progressed just recently and that was that. I assume that because what feels like less than two months ago I saw him looking good and working hard on his latest television show.

I just saw a commercial on ABC Family for a "special edition" of Dirty Dancing and I immediately thought what would happen if he passed away... I "though" too soon.... This is sad. My mom will find out soon enough...

It's not just that the cancer had progressed (and metastasised)
it's the body systems it was effecting.
That's probably the COD.
He also helped to bring this specific disease out of the shadows again bringing more awareness, which is always a good thing.
And FrontRow- most cancer patients would disagree w you- they want every minute they can have, that's why most of them BEG for more chemo even after their disease has progressed ON chemo.
(cos chemo is MAGIC)
My goal is always- Highest quality of life, for longest possible time. Then symptom control til the end.

He was a wonderful dancer and I regret he never got the time to put another dance role on film
The race is run, it's time to rest. RIP

I feel very lucky to have seen his first performance in GUYS AND DOLLS.
