Posted: 8/19/06 at 10:25pmAs I was just watching LitP for the thousandth time, it occured to me that Patti might be an excellent Madame Morrible in Wicked. She's a versatile actress with so much charisma, and she could actually sing the part. What do you think?

Patti would be a great Morrible, but as others have said, it would be a waste of her tremendous talent. She needs a leading role that will showcase everything she has to offer.
Plus, she wouldn't do it to begin with. She flew home to Seattle the day after 'Piazza' closed, and I know for a fact her and her husband plan on staying out there for awhile. In fact, she turned down Margaret on the national tour because she was that eager to get back home. We may not see her on stage for awhile (at least not on Broadway.)

She would be SO wasted as Madame Morrible.
My parents saw Patti as Christine in 1988. They said she was wonderful.

Posted: 8/20/06 at 1:50amIm sure Patti would be upset if she read this thread. We are talking about an amazing performer here, I don't know why people on this board keep insulting stars like Liza Minnelli, Glenn Close or Patti and imagine they want to be involved with Wicked. The show doesn't need stars to sell either.

Posted: 8/20/06 at 7:19amNo one is being "insulted" here just because someone saw someone else in a role that involves Wicked, whether you'd like to see her in it or not.

Posted: 8/20/06 at 9:58amThat's disapointing that we won't be seeing her in anything anytime soon. But it's understandable that she would want a break to be with some family.

Posted: 8/20/06 at 11:13amIf anything, If I was Patti Cohenour I would be so happy that people think I am TOO GOOD to play a role, and that they think that I can be better used. If anything we are complementing her.

Posted: 8/20/06 at 11:16amShe misses home too much to stay in NYC and do a boring role with little singing. The part would have to be really juicy for her to do it.

Posted: 8/20/06 at 11:19amShe was such an amazing Margaret, I'd love to see her do something else. I was thinking Velma in Hairspray but I'm not really sure if she belts or not, and it's probably too boring/small of a part for her :/

I wasn't saying that she should play Morrible. All I was saying is that she could. I also think she could do a hell of a lot more than that, but I respect her decision to be with her family now.
