For everyone that is a fan of Patti LuPone, I thought I'd share this. We are compiling a bunch of letters from her fans to her, to put into a published book that will be presented to Patti. I wanted to offer an opportunity to you to contribute a letter of thanks or an inspirational story you might have to share with Patti.
If you are at all interested, please email a copy of your letter to projectdearpatti@gmail.com by January 28th, 2012. You can write whatever you would like to share with her. Just include your name and where you are from to be posted when your letter is published. The book will be given to her on February 16th, 2012. Any questions or comments you might have can be sent to that address or here. Also, a group has been started to keep track of activity and to update you all on this project and it can be requested to join here! https://www.facebook.com/groups/149066728536440/

Actually have spent plenty of time with her. Several conversations and private meetings. She had mentioned that she appreciates the letters and gifts from fans and wished she had a place to keep it all. This makes it simple.
If you wish to participate, please do. That's all this is about.

I dont wish to sound dismissive, but perhaps these were with her agent and/or management company, not the lady herself.
Nevertheless, pursue it as you see fit. I'm not really that much of a fan of her work, but chops to you if you find this worthwhile.

As a person who has met her in person several times, since 2000, she does appreciate her fans. I think that this gesture will go well with her. Hopefully, it remains a surprise until then. Posted: 1/3/12 at 7:28amPersonally, I cant imagine anyone in an industry this small getting away with being that rude to the people who pay substantial money to sit in a seat and watch her perform. It would not only be unprofessional,it would be professional suicide. If she is indeed the way portrayed by some posters in this thread, then my estimation of her went down a hundred more points. I dont have time for that kind of nonsense, no matter how talented you may think you are (and frankly in her case, what I've seen, it aint much these days).

A few of you in this thread are real a*holes. Someone's trying to do something nice for someone whom they appreciate and you attack both the giver and the recipient for no reason other than to site behind a computer and judge. Grow up a bit and start the year off with at least attempting to be a nicer person.
I'm sure the book will be lovely, I'm sure she will appreciate it, and I'm sure the concert will be even more amazing than you can hope!

You really are Shoshana Bean, aren't you? I mean, you joined in 11/04 and she'd done absolutely nothing at that point to warrant someone naming their screen name after her so I come to that conclusion.

My name is actually Michael Duling and the screen name was actually kind of making fun of the many ridiculous screen names on this board. Someone's really excited to do this for Patti (and who the hell cares what you think of her...not one person asked you) and you had to go make fun of the person doing it and trash someone they are really excited to be working with.
