Thanks! I just love her expressions.
I'll have to look at the other disc I have to see if there are any other priceless expressions. She was so incredibly animated last night- her face was all over the place.

Love Patti! Looks like a terrific concert.
Great pics!
I especially like the one in the last batch at the bottom of page one that sits just BELOW the pic of her hugging her piano player.
Lovely.
Q: Did she sing anything from Sweeney Todd?
Did anyone keep track of a set list??
Just wondering what some of her choices were.

Here's a link to my BWW review. She sang torch songs only - nothing from Sweeney.

Patti LuPone Concert Review
Was Patti drunk off her ass? What a ridiculous thing to say. Why is it that people always want to assume that the reason for a performers out of charater behavior is alcohol?
If you've ever seen her do this type of concert before, you would realize that free from the constartints of book, libretto and role, she loves to let loose and get completely absorbed in the music and the audience. She likes to make a connection with the audience by playing with them.
I saw the show Sunday and have to say it was an extermely strong performance. Her voice was as powerful as ever, the song selection was excellent, each song transitioned beautifully into the next and Patti was enjoying the opportunity to once again present songs that she wanted to do in her arrangements and her style. At times she was giddy and silly and just plain enjoying herself. She obviously hit on the appropriate emotion of every song. Whether it was soulful and introspective, sad or comic, she put it out there so that the song came to life and told it's story.
Her version of So In Love had to be the most powerful I have ever heard. I've heard many singers do that song but never with such strength and emotion. In all, it was a phenominal concert.
