I was wondering if anyone had any information on whether or not Patti signs non-Gypsy items at the stage door. I have an Evita window card that I would love her to sign, but a friend mentioned to me that sometimes people will only sign things from their current show - and as much as I'd liked to get LuPwned - I dont want to suffer the potential embarrassment.

FYI, I stage doored on Sunday to have my Gypsy window card signed and Patti had to rush off so she didnt come out but a man came out with a bucket filled with pre-signed playbills by Patti for everyone - completely unexpected.

That night at Speed-the-Plow, I sat next to "Electra" (her real name escapes me) in the mezz and she told me that "Patti was not .. [made a face]" and didnt really specify if she wasnt feeling well or if she had some other engagement. I also asked her if Patti had any planned vacation or if she was planning on doing the entire run and she said that she had spoken to Patti's standby and that Patti has nothing planned as of now. Also in the mezz from Gypsy, ensemble Newsboys and Toreadorables, along with Tony Yazbeck and fiancee - very cool night.

But, back to my original question: Will she sign non-Gypsy items like my Evita window card? :)

I'm sure she would. I don't see why not.

It's just that she doesn't sign everyone's stuff every night. Some nights she's better with getting to everyone and other nights she kinda just grabs whatever is in reach.

But I don't see why she wouldn't sign it.

Unfortunately she returns items from Evita and Sunset Boulevard with the inscription "Andrew Lloyd Webber Sucks".

I've seen her sign both EVITA and SUNSET items - Playbills, albums, etc. It's not like she looks at them or anything.

My question - will she sign my FAMILY GUY: LIVE FROM VEGAS album?

She has already signed my Anything Goes, Gypsy, Sweeney, and Baker's Wife CD inserts...if I feel ambitious, I will bring Evita and/or Sunset the next time I see GYPSY.

I don't think she'll sign before the show.

you'd probably be better off mailing your Playbill to the theater to have it signed. it's a little rude to bother people before shows, and Patti most likely wouldn't be a fan of it.

I suggest that if you really want something signed that you hand it to her during the curtain call.

And don't forget to hold your cellphone right above your head in the front row and start texting. She will DEFENTALLY sign whatever you have. If you follow her around after the show and show up at her door and bug her, you will get another autograph in the mail. Don't be alarmed when you get it on a restraining order. She was probally all out of paper!

Certainly. Just go to the lip and start slapping it against the stage repeatedly. That should get her attention. If that doesn't work, try snapping your fingers like you would at a waiter whose attention you're trying to get. Good luck!

But only do that if your in a seat where she can't see you texting. Otherwise, text to get her attention. And leave your playbill on the edge of the stage.

Enjoy the show

Went tonight and had her sign my Gypsy window card - she was absolutely sweet and gracious and said "Thank You" to me, after I said it to her, looked at me and smiled.

And for all of you posting these ridiculous things about text messaging, etc. - it isnt very amusing.

"I have this picture of her bathroom I took once....would she sign that?"

I just have this mental image of you trick-or-treating at her house and when she comes to the door you saying "Miss LuPone, if I don't use your bathroom immediately I'm going to puke on your doorstep." And her trying to quickly shut the door but you're pushing the door saying "Miss LuPone, I really need to use your bathroom."
