Posted: 8/28/08 at 2:34amIs it just me, or does Patti voice sound different on the new gypsy recording ?? Her voice sounds like it has been softened. When she said sing out louise, sing out. I didn't even recognize it was her, I thought I purchased the wrong recording.

Posted: 8/28/08 at 2:56amRecordings always sound a bit different than the live music in the theater. It has to do with acoustics, plus whatever the producers decided to do to the recording when editing it.

Posted: 8/28/08 at 3:01amIt's that and the fact that a lot of the dialogue was not recorded the way they perform it in the theatre. This is most apparent on the act two finale track. It's hard to describe.

Bernadette Peters? I read somewhere that Leslie Kritzer dubbed La LuPone.
