Julie Andrews was only in four Broadway shows. Im not sure a theatre naming is really worthy of her....
That said, I think Julie Harris has probably earned the right, along with Mary Martin, Oscar Hammerstein, Lerner and Loewe and most of the others already mentioned.

1. Stephen Sondheim!!!!!- my idea is to rename the Eugene O'Neil theater the Stephen Sondeim Theater right in time for the revival of Sweeney Todd (I can dream, can't I!)
2. Arthur Miller
The Sondheim Theatre certainly has a nice ring to it I also agree with Arthur Miller. Maybe Davis and Dee Theatre...
While I agree that many of these people do deserve to have theatre's named after them. Can we please stop renaming theatre's! Esp theatre's who were named after someone to begin with! The Eugene O'neil should not be renamed!

I really agree with Sondheim and Miller; two of theatres greatest contributers.

I think the
Stella Adler Theater for the Performing Arts sounds good.
But I think Sondheim should have a playhouse not a theater.
The Soundheim Playhouse.

Julie Andrews is a legend... I say she deserves one!
Joel Grey?
I would put Tennessee Williams ahead of Arthur Miller....
Arthur Miller needs a theatre named after him. I don't know how Neil Simon got a theatre before Miller.
On the performing side... how about the Colleen Dewhurst, the Jason Robards or the Estelle Parsons...

Problem is too many names & too few theaters
Well, if every corporate-named theatre gave up their name, we could fit a bunch. Just my quaint little pipe-dream...
there are so many "should be's" and "will be's (eventually)"... if these theatres keep getting renamed, how are they special anymore? I DO agree with naming theatres of people who have contributed immensly to the theatre community, so maybe attatch a name? Like the Lunt Fontanne. Why couldnt the Rogers be The Rogers Hammerstein? You know? That has a pretty cool ring to it.
Just a thought.
