That was a really nice note from Michael Korie
And its good to hear the news about a possible recording from someone actually apart of the show
Wow, this is getting me too excited. First COMPANY, and now maybe GREY GARDENS? Sounds a little too good to be true :)

Well if we're talking about Great Performances, this is by far the best performance of the season or the last couple of seasons - at least according to reviews and such. It should be filmed.

I really hope this happens, but as others have said it seems a little too good to be true! I hope to hear more definite news about this soon!

Thist must be done. Almost every legendary performance has been taped in some way. What I mean by taped is legally and not for the Lincoln Center Library, but for a PBS airing. Of course, Great Performances didn't exist for Merman in Gypsy or Gwen in Sweet Charity, but Angela Lansbury was taped doing Sweeney Todd on tour, Stritch was taped doing At Liberty, Victoria Clark was taped doing Piazza. Ebersole and Wilson must get the same treatment. (And of course, a DVD release. It's unfortunate Ms. Clark's stunning Margaret Johnson is not available to the general public on DVD. Thankfully I taped it that evening.)

look at the fight that was put up to record The Boy From Oz- that went nowhere but this is different. This is a classic peice of theatre. Why is it so hard to get this done, who's stopping it?

I have to say the horrible news about the closing of the only 2 shows that I actually told people they must see have both announced closing dates and 1 of them now is closed (Grey Gardens/Company). Completly horrible that these two didn't catch on. Raul and Christine were brilliant, and the best performances I have ever seen. At least PBS understands our pain.
I made a list of all your faults, it was quite detailed and lengthy too and when I read it through I missed you. Your like a classic Eagles song, you just cant help but sing along even though it sometimes gets annoying too. I just know I want to be wherever I can wake and see you there next to me. **High Fidelity**
Love is what I do **The Wedding Singer**

Well, as of 1:35pm EST, a source at the East of Doheny offices still hasn't heard anything about any negotiations regarding having GREY GARDENS filmed before it closes.
Will keep you posted as we get more info.

Kringas...you rock my world. Would you be kind enough to remind us about the DVDs that were shot almost broadcast style that just about everyone has.

What's stopping it? It usually comes down to money... where is Great Performances in their budget season, what did they already have planned, what are the costs going to be? They usually plan pretty far in advance, so while I hope this comes together, having 2 Broadway shows preserved for broadcast/DVD in such a short time would be fairly impressive.

Hey, quit jabbing -- those who can have them, do.
Great to be able to see everything and anything I want, when I want.
Thanks to these I was able to watch this past weekend a black & white archive of the original Broadway cast of OVER HERE! -- filmed at the Shubert Theatre in 1974! Yup...Reinking, Henner, Travolta, Mineo, Mineo, Williams along with Patty and Maxine Andrews.

Yes, it is Ray.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
