Does Stacey even like her iPhone because I've heard they're not that great....

Stacey likes her iPhone. She doesn't like her job, though.
I hope she doesn't poison the boss. That would be terrible.
Oh, if this AND Company were recorded, PBS would become my favorite channel. I might even give them money!
Oh, and happy birthday WonderfulWizard!
Wonderful.
Best news in a long time.

Brody will only be taking orders for bootlegs until the end of the week (and remember that Wednesday is a holiday). After that, it's too bad so sad. Stacey's already going to be up all hours of the night recording them!
To those who keep sending me PMs:
I do not now, have never had and do not anticipate ever owning the bootleg of Grey Gardens. I apologize for any confusion that I may have caused. BrodyFosse123 is your one stop shop for all your bootlegging needs. Please contact him directly or call Stacey on her iPhone. Thank you.
- LMAO! I f8(king love you. Brilliant.
Please PBS make this happen..I said that I would pledge $25 during your next beg-a-thon/pledge drive for bringing us Company on Great Performances....now if you do the same for Grey Gardens I will match that pledge and you will recieve $50 from me...don't let me and all of GG's fans down
Well, as of 5:51pm EST, a source at the East of Doheny offices still hasn't heard anything about any negotiations regarding having GREY GARDENS filmed before it closes.
Will keep you posted as we get more info.
Keeping our finger's crossed.
While I would rather see other musicals preserved, if taping GG bodes well for taping others, I am all for it
Please excuse duplicate post
Anyone have any new news?

"Sigh. As I told you already, many already have the bootleg DVDs of both the Playwrights Horizon and Broadway incarnations of the show. Each one was shot incredibly well (almost broadcast-type filming), so an official one would be barely an improvement on the ones already out."
Because illegal copies with unfocused camera shots, blocked heads, and camera "hides" are always a substitute for a professionally shot video.
And it should be made clear that just because a show appears on PBS does not mean OPBS is responsible for the taping. Company was independently recorded and SOLD to PBS for airing and distribution. I am under the impression that a similar fate is happening to Grey Gardens. All those Andrew Lloyd Webber shows that were filmed had nothing to do with PBS, despite the fact they aired on the channel.
Yes, indeed-dee. COMPANY was indeed filmed by a private production company and then negotiated with PBS for airing, which is how PBS got involved -- they had nothing to do with the COMPANY filming. This was also the case with all those other Sondheim shows being filmed, etc. PBS only aired them -- they had nothing to do with the filming of those shows.
PBS has already confirmed that they are not stepping up to the plate and using their funds to film GREY GARDENS. They will air it if someone else films it. Unless someone comes out of the dark and sponsors a filming of it, this ain't happening.
It's quite obvious now that the investors of GREY GARDENS aren't going to use more of their funds to produce this filming as they are already losing $6 million on the entire Broadway run.
At least those bootleg videos exist of the show for the general public to see for years to come. The show was preserved for the Lincoln Center Archives, but unfortunately that tape will never be made available for home video release. Equity and copyright laws prevent that, no matter how much we haggle and petition.

Who wants to send me one of those already recorded videos?
So let's just change Equity and Copyright laws. :P
YankeeFan, it's all about Stacey...
I thought it was all about her mom...?

But Brody, couldn't a recording of a show help the producers get some of their money back? I thought I rembered that the producers of Sweeney Todd (I think?) made some of their money back through sales of the video.

nice, B3TA07, that made me giggle :)
SWEENEY TODD? You must mean COMPANY as the recent revival of SWEENEY TODD was never filmed.
The producers of GREY GARDENS are closing the show permanently as they fully realize that without one of the show's original leads, the show has no future. Even WITH the two award winning leads still in the show, the show doesn't have an adequate audience, without one, it just has no draw at all anymore. The entire run didn't bring a profit.
The cost of filming GREY GARDENS is quite expensive. Just the moderate sales of a DVD of the show will only marginally bring enough profit to cover the expense of the filming (if ever). No matter how you flip the situation -- GREY GARDENS can't bring in any profit to anyone involved. They've lost way too much money at this point and aren't in the mood to keep losing more just to make a few fans of the show happy.
They gave you the Broadway Cast Recording; a nice souvenir program book; and a nice show. That's more than most flop shows ever offered. CAROLINE, OR CHANGE never even had a souvenir program nor any merchandise -- just the Original Broadway Cast Recording and the release of the libretto in book form. That's it.
I meant the original Sweeney Todd. I'm well aware the Sweeney Todd revival was never filmed.
Why can't cats spell?
did someone call?
I meant wizard11's avatar, lol.
