Hello. I thought this was an interesting Perez Hilton article. I'm still planning on seeing ACL on June 12th. Early on, I was quite enthralled with seeing Mario Lopez. Now, not so much. With the changes that were incorporated just for him, I'd rather take a look at the other talented dancers and singers... like Nick Adams for example? It is major craziness that Nick is exiled to the back while Mario hogs the limelight at the front. The good thing is that it's a temporary situation. When is Mario's last day? from RC in Austin, Texas
As we mentioned a few weeks ago, Mario Lopez took over the role of Zach in the Broadway production of A Chorus Line.
Everything seems to be going well for Lopez….except there seems to be too much ego onstage.
Lopez seems to be a bit too in love with himself - his arms, to be precise. So much so, that he's refused to wear Zach's costume, which consists of a tan sweater with LONG sleeves.
It seems Lopez really wants to show off his biceps.
The issue is that the outfit is based on what was worn in real life by the show's creator, Michael Bennett. It's been worn countless times by every individual that's ever played Zach over the past 30 years!
But, Diva Lopez wanted to wear a simple brown shirt with SHORT sleeves to show off his biceps.
It doesn't even end there!
Apparently, Lopez has to be the only one on stage with the best body.
Throughout the play, Nick Adams, who portrays Larry the assistant choreographer to Zach, is often on stage next to Lopez.
Larry's costume has always been a navy blue tank top with the number 17 on it (for the 17 performers auditioning for the spots on the chorus). And, luckily for the audience, this Larry is hot! And built! And apparently too much better looking than Lopez, especially with larger biceps.
Inside sources are saying that Lopez didn't want to get upstaged by Adam's biceps, so he demanded requested that whenever the two are on stage together, Adams wear a long sleeve hoodie over his tank top.
Hello, Mr. Insecure!
It seems for now the show is going to have to put up with Lopez's demands, since they often require a big name to draw in audiences. Director Bob Avian, however, insists it was his idea to have Larry wear a hoodie.
Riiiiiiight.
Divas often start out with small request but always escalate to annoying demands later on.
Remember that!
Perez Hilton / Mario Lopez
Are they really covering Nick up? That's bullsh*t. Even if we want to "pretend" that it's hard to tell them apart on stage it's not. Nick is the better looking one. Not to mention more talented.
That was Riedel's article in the Post today.
^ I was about to say this sounds strangely familiar...
Nick is AMAZING!! Mario is..eh. And as much as I HATE Perez and his attitude, I have to agree with him on this.
If we weren't talking about two gossip columnists, I would suggest that Michael Riedel bring up charges of plagiarism against Perez Hilton, who basically reworded Riedel's article and posted it.

So now Perez is stealing other people's gossip instead of making up his own? How low can you go.
Cartwheel made a post not referring to Clay Aiken! Aren't we so proud?!
My vote goes to Mario.

I wonder what the cast of ACL thinks of this. You know some if not all read the Post and/or Perez. Mario has got to feel awkward that his insecurities/egotistical manners have become not only known to the cast but to his "fans" and all other post/perez readers.
I always wonder about the dynamics of a cast when a "star" comes in. I usually think the star gets a long with everyone and assimilates to the Broadway family, but I don't know what to think in this case. Does Mario's ego stop at costumes and being at the tip of the triangle?
They didn't even mention the change made to the finale with Zach replacing Paul. That's a bigger change to me than just the costumes.
You're so right. That change is totally unforgivable.
Looks like Mr. Lopez went out and bought himself a pair of diva pants to go with his new shirt.

Wanted to see it with Mario; now I'd just like to know when is his last performance? Sorry, but you don't F with A Chorus Line to the extent of changing the ending for the likes of a Mario Lopez.

If you see, in the article itself, Perez links to Riedel's original article.
Not a big Perez fan, and I don't mean to defend him, but ever since being sued by the photo companies for using their shots w/o proper credit, he always links back to original things.
And in my opinion, Tyler Hanes was a muuuuuch more attractive Larry than Nick Adams.
Wow! A douche commenting on a douche commenting on a douche...its like facing two mirrors against each other!
This just REALLY lowered Mario in my eyes...
I won't try to explain how this make me feel.
Maybe I should just walk down to the Buell on Friday night and talk to the creative team. I am sure they are here for the National Tour's opening! lol
"Wow! A douche commenting on a douche commenting on a douche...its like facing two mirrors against each other!"
It can't be said better than that!
And, just to add, Perez is a skank that someone should add to the tank.
I honestly don't see why such a pointless and trivial matter has gotten this much of a reaction.

I brought this up a month ago and was dismissed as a liar. I hate to say I told you so...(actually, I love saying it!).
Mr. Hilton was the coverstory from last week's addition of DC's Metro Weekly. I couldn't even bring myself to read it.

Actually it is related to Clay, in that Claymates hate Perez for trying to out Clay, and look for any chance to diss him.
Perez is a scuz, but yes, there is a Clay connection.
Am I the only one that does a spit-take when reading Perez calling someone else out for "too much ego?" A man who thinks it is his job to "out" people?

And that's why the bitches who spread fake gossip about Clay hate Claymates.
