I was lucky to attend the brilliant opening night performance of next to normal last night. I've already written a review of the show, so I'll just stick to the happenings of opening night. No huge celebrities, but a lot of big broadway people. This included John Gallagher Jr., Jonathan B. Wright, Bernie Tesley, Lin Manuel Miranda, Bill Sherman, Jake Wilson, Michael Reidel, Stephen Schwartz, and Marissa Jaret Winokur.
I had the best bathroom trip in my life when I realized I was in the urinal next to Stephen Schwatz. Any who...
The show itself was great and the audience feedback really helped fuel the actors, but there was someone in the audience that would not stop talking throughout the second act. It sounded like they were in the mezz. People in the orchestra actually started to shush and shout out "be quiet". I found that to be really sad on an opening night. Also the mics were giving a lot of feedback.
Again I LOVE this show and hope that it does well!!!
Congrats to the cast and crew for a great show. I wish I could see it!

I was in the mezz, and I can assert with much confidence that the person was not up there. Regardless, that is sad.
I finally got TDF to work in my favor (after it told me there were no tickets left) to get a ticket to Sunday's 7:30 pm performance. I'm so excited! It will be my first time seeing the show since 2ST.
Double stars now next to the performances listed, including this Sunday evening's. And they've pulled some dates. I hope that means good things for the show.
Anyone else going to this Sunday's evening show?
Just FYI, but the site has added three new videos- a montage of clips from the Broadway production, I'm Alive, and I Am the One. They also removed any video clips from the Arena Stage production (like I Miss the Mountains and Psychopharmacologist).

Not completely relevant, but did anyone who went to Opening Night happen to see Augusten Burroughs in the audience? lol Just curious.

I think this may be the most stunning picture from the show yet.
(Keep note, everyone. After "just think the number 8 and you're golden" from the NYT audio slideshow, I'm totally going to make Aaron Tv8 happen. Like fetch.)

I might as well ask here, it seems like a better thread to ask in...
Is Row F Center Mezzanine good? I think I'm gonna go to N2N.
Perfect seat.
There really isn't a bad seat in the mezzanine for this show. Have a great time!

You know, I was debating posting that question here or just PMing you lol. Looks like it wouldn't have made a difference...
Thanks for the info!

Another seating question...if they continue giving far side seats for rush, would it be worth the extra $10 and go for the rear mezz? Or are those side seats pretty decent?

Speaking of sides seats... what's better?
Row N Side- Aisle- Orchestra
Row F Center Mezzanine
Haha! No problem!
And heo, the far side seats are generally fine, unless you are too far back in the orchestra and you miss some action on the top tier of the set.
Personally though, I would go for the $35 or whatever it is and grab the last row of the Rear Mezz seats. They're really, really great seats.

Oh, you miss Aaron from Row N, forget that!
I'd say Row M or N is where the cutoff of the top tier really starts. So go for the Mezz seats. Like I said, there's really no bad seat in the Mezz for this show.
I was pleasantly surprised with how great rear mezz seats are.
But mid-mezz seats are definitely the best seats in the house.

Is Row F considered mid-mezz or rear-mezz? It's such a small mezzanine I can't be to sure.
Sorry for all the questions...
(For N2N) it's considered mid-mezzanine. The rear-mezzanine is a title given to only the last row of the mezzanine, row H.

Ok, thanks!
One more day until front row, mezz will welcome my buttocks to this piece of art.
The bar has been set, and I expect great things! I'm all a-twitter with excitement! (That's the first time I ever wrote "all a-twitter" -- that's the second!)
I'm seeing Hair at the matinee on the same day....is it possible to have two outstanding theatrical experiences in the same day? I'm thinking: yup.
Ok...I'm rambling. I will stop. (forgive me, I am an insomniac suffering from sleep deprivation) And again, I will stop.
Dramamama, I definitley saw both Hair and N2N in the same day (Hair at the matinee) and it is very possible to have that kind of theatrical amazingness in one day!
Have fun!!!
