i saw Spring Awakening 3 times when he was in it and I never really heard his "full" voice...i want to hear him in a full role!
New TDF dates. Most of next week including some of the weekend.
Enjoy if you can!
I am finally going to see N2N tomorrow night. Looking forward to it as I don't know much about it at all.
Keep it that way. Open your heart and enjoy.

Incase anyone wants to know
I saw Next to Normal on Sunday and my TDF seats were in Row P of the center ORC not bad seats for $36.50

I heard N2N does standing room occasionally. Is this only when it's sold out, and how much do they charge?

It's only when they are sold out and it's $26.50.
I tried to get it 2 weeks ago on a Saturday night and the lady said they weren't even close to being able to sell standing room yet.
so..did anyone see Tim's Henry?...review please!
Yes! Do tell!! (Of course, they aren't home yet._
He was GREAT!! Very, very, very different from Adam, but a great performance nonetheless. He's not as geeky and silly as Adam, and plays Henry as a bit less of a stoner. Both interpretations worked well. He also has a very good voice. Of course he and Jen don't have the kind of chemistry Jen and Adam do, but that's to be expected. A wonderful debut for him in this track!!
Several of his costumes were a little different. The only one that upset was his tuxedo. Tim doesn't get the ruffly shirt with the bowtie. I missed that. I wonder why they don't have two of those.
I'm still not sure I would want to see him as Gabe (he just seems so wrong for that role), but I would definitely be excited to see him go on as Henry again (to take nothing away from Chanler-Berat's GREAT performance).
Mezz was completely full, by the way. Couldn't see the orchestra.

It's funny you say that he wasn't as geeky as Adam, because the one thing I thought throughout the night was how much MORE nerdy Henry was than usual!
Either way - I definitely thought Tim did a great job, and I love his voice.
i see Tim so much more as a Henry then a Gabe...

I've now seen Tim as both Gabe and Henry, and I have to disagree and say that I much preferred his performance as Gabe over him as Henry.
I thought Tim did a great job. I loved the show. The music and the acting were incredible. The stage door was more crowded than I expected it to be. I'll post my photos later.
I knew nothing about the show going in and I felt really stupid for the reason listed below.
SPOILER..........
It took me until about half way through to figure out Gabe was the dead son. I just kept assuming they had 3 children. It was a cool moment for me when it clicked but like I said, I felt really stupid that I didn't figure it out earlier.

Has anyone seen the new commercial for the show? It's awesome! I've always disliked the ads they did with faces ("Meet Gabe," "Meet Diana," etc.) and thought they should just use clips from the show. Well that's exactly what they did. It looks great. It's not on the show's website, but I just saw it this morning during Rachel Ray. If it pops up online somewhere I'll post it. Just a heads up.
The new commercial has been showing on NY1 here in NYC - it looks great!
Thank God they changed the ad. The old one was terrible and did the show a disservice.
whoa whoa whoa...who's Tim? what happened to Adam?!
Tim Young is the u/s for Henry and Gabe.

Came to NY this week for vacation and to finally watch N2N. It was definitely worth the trip and has been the musical highlight so far. The entire original cast was on tonight which was great to see (unlike Hair and WSS which had a few understudies in both shows on Wed. that I went to) and they were AMAZING. Watching it live, in person really makes you appreciate just how fantastic Alice is, and how well deserved her Tony was. Her facial expressions, tears.. the acting that she does and the energy she probably has to expend on a nightly basis is unbelievable. The entire cast, in fact, was fantastic. At the stage door afterwards, Jenn, who I have read on the board here doesn't sign very often, signed last night along with Louis and Adam. They were all very nice. Unfortunately, Alice's allergies were acting up according to the person at SD, so she didn't come out, nor did Bobby or Aaron Oh well, I might have to go watch it again tommorow night to get the other 3 autographs.
My daughter is coming home from college for a few days in October and would like to see Next to Normal.
Can you tell me if Alice Ripley usually appears at Sunday matinees or should we pick another day/time?
Thanks!

Alice Ripley has only missed (correct me if I'm wrong) 2 shows the entire run. Unless she is ill or has a planned vacation she will be in the show.
It's an amazing show and she is wonderful
Enjoy

I believe Alice has actually missed 4 performances, but 3 of them were in a row (Friday night, both Saturday shows) because she was ill.
Barring illness, she will be in at all performances. She doesn't come out the stagedoor after Sunday matinees, however, because the evening show is at 7:30 and there isn't time for her to do the stagedoor and still get some down time.
Thanks for the info! Looking forward to it!

Planning on rushing tomorrow morning for the mat...planning on getting there around 6. Does that seem reasonable? Especially since the weather seems like it is going to be bad?
