I saw the show first with Aaron and then the second time with Kyle...I first thought I would miss Aaron's performance..however...Kyle was great and made the role his own.
I'm going back to the show on Sunday so I'll be sure to review then
I think there is a problem when people consider cast members of a show they are fans of to be their close, personal friends. From stage door encounters.
Bingo!!! I know that this cast is one of the friendliest casts on Broadway, but that doesn't mean that they're literally your best friends. Some fans take it way too far. Most of the people I see post on Alice's facebook are (I *think*) my age / college-aged-ish, but the creepiest that I know of is in her late '30s (said person was already brought up in this thread and I won't go on about that, I'm just sayin'). I just don't understand it.

I comment on Alice and Bobby's facebooks sometimes, but I'm not under any illusions that I'm anything more than one of their many fans. Maybe some of the people who post excessively actually do know them personally. Or maybe they're just delusional. I heard that Alice didn't come out the stage door the other night because people were ignoring her requests for no posed pictures. It's a shame that a few idiots have to ruin it for the rest of us. I love going to the stage door and having my few seconds with the performers, but it's not about that anyway. It's about what happens ONSTAGE.
Okay, rant over. Back to the show. I'm seeing it next month and I kind of hope Meghann Fahy is on. I loved Jenn's performance, but I've heard nothing but great things about Meghann.

Thanks for the opinions on Kyle!
I thought Kyle looks the part more than Aaron and I prefer some of his line deliveries, but Aaron is much better vocally and I liked his overall interpretation more.

Really? I think Kyle looks MUCH older than Aaron.
I agree. Kyle looks too old for the role, IMO.
And he's fine in it but I wasn't really blown away by Aaron's performance either...so I'm thinking it may just be the role. But I've yet to be blown away by a Gabe performance.
Aaron was better but Kyle is good enough...nothing spectacular but nothing awful.

Was just wondering actually...
What would happen if Bobby or Louis called out on the same night? Or Adam and Aaron/Kyle since both roles have a shared understudy.
I just think Kyle looks more the way a mother would dream up her son than Aaron does. Maybe he does look a bit too old, but it didn't bother me.
^ ?? I don't get how one is a more motherly image than the other.
BTW....Speaking of Meghan...did you know that she and Jenn were roommates? She mentioned it in an interview I read the other day. I thought that was pretty cool.
dramamamma, do you happen to know where you saw that interview? I would like to read it

Thanks for posting....I would have had NO memory of where I saw it.
Yes, she and JBW were together for awhile. (Off and on, so the scuttle says.)
I would love to see JBW Melchior on Jenn's Wendla!

I really want to see Tim as Henry...I might go.
Sadly, JBW never once got to play Melchior. Would have been so different, yet so devine.
I DID see him in the Public Theater's SPF Festival at the begining of the month in Departue Lounge with Nick Blamiere (sp?) He sounded AMAZING and was incredibly charming afterwards.

dramamama..I know he never played Melchior
I wish he did at some point but he was taken off the understudy list shortly after the show opened...anyone have any idea why?

I don't think B. Wright has the vocal range for Melchior. (But I'd love to see him in that role or any other because I think he's hilariously inappropriate and was possibly my favorite part of Spring Awakening.)
I just think Kyle looks more the way a mother would dream up her son than Aaron does.
I'm still trying to figure this one out. They're essentially from the same stock of Boy, so I don't get it.
It wasnt' shortly after it opened....it was more than 9 months later....because he was still listed when I first saw it (In August) and I saw it a few more times before it changed. So closer to a year.
And yes....it was really too high for him, but I still would have loved to see his acting choices!
