If the Best Replacement Tony had been around since the beginning...who do you think would have won?

Does it have to be within the second season of the show? Cuz if not my vote goes to Deborah Cox for AIDA
Cheers,

Karen Ziemba, CRAZY FOR YOU
Jan Maxwell, DANCING AT LUGHNASA
re: Performers that WOULD have won the Best Replacement Tony#4
Posted: 12/3/05 at 7:31pmehhh... maybe not Ziemba. I like her a lot, but Polly in C4U is not a role that garners a lot of award type attention, especially if she were up against a lot of the great performances of the early 90's

I swear there was a thread about this recently.
I'm gonna say Reba, specifically because the award has been nicknamed "The Reba Award."
re: Performers that WOULD have won the Best Replacement Tony#6
Posted: 12/3/05 at 7:35pmThe role of Polly garnered enough "award type attention" for a Tony nomination for the original performer.
re: Performers that WOULD have won the Best Replacement Tony#7
Posted: 12/3/05 at 7:47pmWHAT? Yes it does garner Tony attention. Its the lead full of singing, dancing and acting. I'm pretty sure she would have been considered. Updated On: 12/3/05 at 07:47 PM

V, I do believe that is one of the few things you and the short/busty girl agree on.
I, however, think JLT was a mistake for Wicked. Loved her in Urinetown and even Footloose. But Wicked? :[
Annnnd back on topic:
Charlotte d'Amboise as Roxie in Chicago! She was amazing.

I second JLT in Wicked, as well as Deborah Cox for Aida.

Posted: 12/3/05 at 10:04pmOf course I second Brooke Shields in Wonderful Town, and Charlotte D'Amboise in Chicago. I didn't see her performance but from the reviews I've read I'm pretty sure Faith Prince in the King and I would have won Best Replacement. Susan Egan in Cabaret. Karen Ziemba in Chicago. Maybe Sarah Jessica Parker in Annie, just because I'm sure she was "fabulous" in the role.
