Hell yeah.
Only if it'll actually get a reaction -- either a "Thanks for trying, but no," or a "Thanks for trying, we'll do it!"
I am all for it! Tell me where to sign.

Forget that. I want a DVD. 100 years from now, the score will be completely forgotten, but the staging of "Secrets" and the rest of Winston's heaven numbers will still be the stuff of legend.

Sign me up. CJH's performance alone is worth saving. Bootlegs anyone?
Sweeneyfan, please read the guidlines for posting on the site.
This is not the forum to discuss unauthorized recordings.
A cast album would be great. If so, I guarantee it will be out before Dracula ever sees the light (pardon the pun)of day

im in. i want a CD since i never got to see it performed. the video clips on broadway.com made it look very interesting, and i would really like to hear christopher and chiarra (spelling?) sing since ive heard how well she sings.
i thought they were already recording this though? or did they pull the plug since its done?
Sweeneyfan, bootlegs are terrible things and are not to be discussed on this board.
I too would love to hear the little urchin sing the lovely When She Danced. I am sure it has so much meaning when done by a child. So beautiful and moving.
Don't dally. Life turns on a dime, people.

I love you Sueleen, and I am all for this being preserved forever on csat recording. C'mon Brooks! You got your trash into the theater, you might as well get it onto laser disc.

Only two signatures so far, they're after two thousand...
I'm going to sign it... just as soon as I think of a witty comment. Too much pressure! I've got performance anxiety!
Wow, the avatar seems to be in a state of shock P.
I may sign. Soonish.
I signed! The sampler CD cracked me up enough, a full cast recording would be a nonstop bundle of fun!
smart penquin..not so smart. maybe a nice PM to sweeney about posting guidelines instead of a public flogging would have been more appropriate.
Ooh, I'll sign.

I agree with MARGS - I want a DVD, VHS, CD, Poster, Hat, Shirt, Souvenir Book, and a signed-by-the-whole-cast-and-artistic-team coffee table book including pictures, diaries, and the full libretto...

I need to publicly apologize for my comment regarding bootlegs, I guess. What I meant was, since the show was folding so soon, a recording seems unlikely and therefore would only be represented by the multitude of bootlegs that there must be out there. (In fact, you'd be shocked, those of you in your smart little ivory towers, at how many offers of bootlegs I've gotten... 5 or 6 times as many of the evil toned little messages I've gotten about how wrong it is to bootleg.) BUT! I'm sorry.
Yes, they are wrong in principle...but we are talking something that will be gone forever in a week, not something that has generated a cast recording, a revival, a revisal, a movie or billions of merchandising items. If this were Wicked ok, fine why steal from the publishers of the book, the printers of the t-shirts, the poor Asian slaves who ink "defying gravity" at 1cent per 2,000 shirts somewhere in Vietnam, or the inevitible movie version (which in and of itself will generate endless "I love the show, the movie sucks, why isn't Britny playing BOTH roles" entries on sites like this)?
No, all I mentioned was a bootleg (they exist, why deny it?). I didn't even say I'd buy one. Get off my back, huh?
Now, go back to your RENT/Wicked/Phantom/Les Miz is the best campaigns or argue every minute point of a performance or whatever. Stupid me thought it would be fun to discuss theater. The power of a mispoken word is incredible.
Having said that...I got a message from someone who claims to be in the production who wants a copy if I happen to buy one!
Again, I apologize. Bootlegs & Sweeneyfan = BAD.

The point is MAKING bootlegs is illegal. Furthermore, many people in the biz read BWW - so Rob (and BWW) could get in trouble for "supporting" bootlegs. And, in fact, not deleting posts could be considered bootlegs.
It's true, many performers themselves like bootlegs (and many others don't). Nevertheless, it isn't something to publicly advertise - especially since you could get BWW in trouble.
Good Lord, Sweeneyfan, take a pill. You don't overreact too much, do you? All we are trying to say is that this board is not the place to discuss you know what. The Mods could get in big trouble and even be fined. We are just trying to protect them. Now go sign the darn petition so that when they DO record it you may borrow someone's CD and burn a free copy!
