"Got an extra candelabra?"
Judging by the sets in the original Phantom, I'm guessing there will be an abundance of candelabras lying around for the sequel.
You know what'd be funny? If during the opening performance, somone made the chandelier hanging over the theatre crash... just sayin'...

Kind of wish that happened in the original. Just sayin...

I honestly can not wait to see this! I know its just going to be the most horrible thing in the world but I want to say that I actually saw it with my own eyes before it eventually flops/closes.
In all seriousness though, I'm a huge Phantom Phan and I don't understand why he went with doing a sequel. I would have much rather seen a prequel based off of Susan Kay's novel "Phantom", which could actually be a good show on its own I think, then this. I can only imagine what the cast members will be thinking, because you know that they're gonna recycle past cast members from the original production!

I think Phantom 2 should star Jamie Lynn Spears's baby!
It'd be a hootenany!!

Sondheimgeek, though I love the original "Phantom," I've always had this streak of morbid curiosity about the chandelier actually crashing on the audience during that scene. I mean, no one would suspect a thing until it was too late.
I'm like that at school too, when we have a fire drill-- what better time to set a fire than when the alarm's already going off?
Wow, if I didn't already come across as a creep on this site, this post would certainly do it.

Reading Michael Riedel's second hand description of Act I again, it occurred to me that one of the things he mentioned would give the show more publicity than the chandelier did the original.
Riedel wrote: As for "Phantom . . . Once Upon Another Time": It's set in 1906 in Coney Island. The Phantom, having fled Paris, is running a freak show. AT NIGHT HE CRAWLS INTO HIS LAIR AND MAKED LOVE TO AN AUTOMATON THT LOOKS LIKE CHRISTINE.
I have added accessories in the interest of discretion.

That is exactly how I feel

Posted: 9/16/08 at 5:41pmWhat's the point of giving it a full length title at all when eventually it'll just be reduced to one word on a billboard in Times Square?

What would that one word be? Dies?
Or how about ---
Phantom-Dies
...or would that give away the ending?

Posted: 9/16/08 at 6:29pmI'm sure this thread has more artistic skill and originality than all of Phantom 2 itself.

They should cast Emmy Rossum.
I'd be totally convinced by her portrayal of a static, emotionless doll. They'd better get someone with actual talent for Christine though...
