Hey Rose: do you know how Christine gets her wedding dress on in the end?

Rose, another question when you have the time:
Does Christine sing the cadenza (the sing-scream) to the title song while they were still in the boat, or did they get to the lair by then? What was the Phantom doing, and how did he act while she was singing the cadenza? Did he say "sing" in a demanding way (ex: JOJ) or more softly (ex: MC). Just basically I want to know how this plays out in the movie. It is one of my favorite parts in the stage show, and I'm really curious. Thanks!

Okay, forget those questions if you want. What are the intercuts like of the two parties during Masquerade? (The Behind-the-Scenes chorus party and the elaborate ball). Is it successful?

Most of those questions came from posters at another forum. I guess I became the spokesperson Sorry if we drained you Rose!
Thanks so much for all your help and information. You certainly inspired us fans to have confidence in the film and for that, we are in your debt! Thanks again
Don't worry, guys! I didn't forget about this thread, I was just sick. Probably caught something at work from one of those little brats hacking on the clothes. But anyway, I'll answer Jake's...I mean, everyone's () questions:
I have no idea how Christine got the wedding dress.
By the time they get to the cadenza they have alse reached the lair. But I don't remember how demanding the Phantom is about asking her to sing.
The intercutting during "Masquerade" is cool. There's not a lot of it, but I like it.
Once again, sorry for the absence, guys, and I hope I answered the questions thoroughly!
Aww. Rose i really hope you feel better soon.
Oh, I am. The fact that I'm up and on the computer is testament to that. Thanks!
HUSSYS!
Okay, AICN is really starting to piss me off. Have you seen the latest response? I just got cussed out for sounding intelligent. Please, is anyone registered at AICN? Because I really want to post a response of my own but their registration system is down.

You shouldn't worry about them. They are all just big musical-hating jerks that don’t know anything.

not everyone at aicn is bad. the talkbackers are mostly just very bitter people. most of the guys who run the site and the people who go in the chat room are cool. you should check it out.

Glad you're feeling better Rose! There has been a discussion over the wedding dress at Phantomfans.net, so maybe if I'm a bit more specific you can tell us whether this was cut or not:
In the script, the Phantom rips off Christine's "Point of No Return" costume in the final lair scene. Does she put on the wedding dress in front of the Phantom and Raoul?
When I first read this, I was a bit shocked, but I think it could translate well on screen (if handled properly). On the other hand, I could understand if it were cut. Just let us know :P
Thanks :)

I'd like to know if you though the film was better than Chicago and Moulin Rouge, Rose.
There definitely wasn't a clothes-ripping scene in our cut, and we never saw how she got the dress. She's just wearing it suddenly. That could have been pretty damn sexy, though...I'm sorry, what was your question?
Better than "Moulin Rouge" or "Chicago..." Ooh, that is tough. I honestly can't say. They're all so different, I don't think you can really compare them. I like all of them equally.

Is this what the set looks like for "Don Juan Triumphant"? (Point of No Return)
...because all of the pictures we've seen so far only show the red flames...???

Okay, another question! :)
Why does the Phantom kill Buquet (the "Magical Lasso"/curtain guy)? I've heard several different theories: 1) That he kills him becuase he looks at Christine and Meg with lechery and lust, 2) Becuase Buquet sees the Phantom playing with the chandelier and 3) like it is in the play, the Phantom gets tired of Buquet telling stories about him...
Thanks!

*Sobs* This board used to be so active! What happened? I guess we wore Rose out or over-stayed our welcome.

I know what you mean. After I didn't get a reply back from Rose I decided to step away for a while...now I'm back! MWAHAHA!
Sorry guys! I know I haven't been on for a while, and you most certainly haven't overstayed your welcome! I was commissioned to do costumes for my dad's school's production of "Midsummer" so I've been devoting a lot of time to that.
Jake, as to your Buquet question: I'm leaning toward choice #2 (the Phantom kills him because he was messing with the chandelier), but I honestly can't remember. It could also be that he was hitting on Christine and Meg (he was a little, er, "friendly" when he told them about the Punjab lasso). Sorry I couldn't be more clear!
Bronxboundexpress: I haven't seen "Evita," so I can't compare it to anything.
rose, have you seen the new trailer on the other thread? That looks pretty awsome when they show the overture. Is that in the show I hope? Are there more moments with special effects like that?
