It's just a rumor off a myspace group that I saw. I'd rather not say till it's offical. I don't want to start anything...since it is a RUMOR.
jrb - Anyone I know?
I totally get you Gretch, people do tend to attack quite quickly without a credible link to back yourself up with.
Scott, where is your hunch coming from?
OK someone tell me there hunches. Just IM me and I will keep my mouth shut. I am going crazy here.

How could it be Sutton. Isn't she doing Drowsy Chaparone?
People please IM me your hunches. I am dyin over here. Well not actually dyin, because I have a few hunches myself, and it goes along with the myspace rumor of which you speack Gretch. No one will know for sure unil the ink dries.:)
All I can say is that I'm enjoying the buzz this thread is sort of creating. I'm also getting a kick out of how cryptic you all are being HA HA
I hope it's sung-through. I much prefer sung-through musicals to those with dialogue.

I really had no choice but to bump this given the news that came out today :)

This may sound stupid but... when do tickets go on sale for this?

I have no idea when tickets go on sale but I think they have to cast it 1st! Lol.
The Pirate Queen will play at Chicago's Cadillac Palace Theatre Oct. 3-Nov. 26, 2006, and open on Broadway in spring 2007
Priority seating for The Pirate Queen is available now for groups of 20 or more by calling (312) 977-1710, or by subscribing this spring to the 2006-2007 Neumann Homes Broadway In Chicago Season Series.

Wait they haven't cast the Chicago production yet? I guess maybe I should research these things before asking questions.
They HAVE cast most, are still in process of casting some. No offical press release has been given out by the producers as far as I've seen but people have definitely been signed to this.
If you are really that interested you SHOULD read up more about it. There is also a whole seperate Pirate Queen message board with loads of information. Of course, you can also listen to the Cast Party interview Stephanie did with Jim Caruso about the show, she gives some info on the show as well.

Yeah I kinda became interested when I realized I may just be able to see it while it's in Chicago, but on broadwayinchicago.com all it says is "Tickets available soon!" and I wanted to know how long I have to convince my mom to take me.

BUMP.. ok I just want to make sure I have this right. Stephanie J. Block will be the female lead, Grace O'Mally, and Colm Wilkinson will be the male lead? (sorry for any name errors)
Yes on Steph! :)
Colm is NOT confirmed as of now. And he would be playing her father so I'm not sure if that would be considered a "lead" persay... although it would be foolish to dismiss how many seats his name would fill regardless.
In a Cast Party interview she mentioned a few names that are involved in the show, but other than those names the rest of the cast is yet to be announced.

Thanks so much. I am so excited for this. I have recently become a big fan of these writers and cant wait to hear a new score.
Ooooooooooooo. Exciting! This looks really really cool. I can't wait to hear the songs!
Is this going to be the first Boublil and Schonberg musical that opens in the US instead of Britain?
I wonder what happened to the plans of opening in Dublin, Ireland. I might have been able to see it then!
