Looking forward to the new season.
South Pacific
Rock of Ages
Hair
Shrek
Next to Normal
West Side Story
Mary Poppins
Extras: Phantom, Burn The Floor, Rain, Mamma Mia!
Nice lineup.
Is this at the Benedum?
yes mr roxy! every single show is at the benedum. very very exciting lineup.
Nothing at Heinz Hall? Boy, the feud must have taken a turn for the worse!
Heinz Hall a/k/a Loews Penn was one of the worse conversions of a movie palace to a PAC. Benedum a/k/a/ Stanley was one of the best.
Fantastic, fantastic lineup!
"Rock of Ages" and "Shrek" I'll pass on, but I'm VERY excited that "Next to Normal" is coming, as well as "South Pacific" which didn't make it anywhere near here this season.
Interesting that "Billy Elliot" isn't coming to Pittsburgh. If it's even going to be on the road next season, maybe Cleveland is picking it up. I was expecting to see "Billy" as Pittsburgh's big show, and "Next to Normal" as Cleveland's. Maybe it'll be the other way around.
Also glad that I'll have a chance to see "Mary Poppins," since I missed it last summer in Cleveland.

I'm absolutely thrilled with the season, especially Hair and Next to Normal. I'll definitely be driving home from school to see both.
I'm also eagerly waiting to hear Cleveland's lineup, which will be announced on April 6, according to the Playhouse Square website.
couldnt agree more, roxy. the benedum is one of the most beautiful theatres ive ever been in, heinz hall makes me feel gross just sitting in one of its seats.
im not quite sure why some shows arent playing heinz hall thou. the benedum has close to 3000 seats, and shows like next to normal are gonna get swallowed in the cavernous space.

Actually, I believe Hair will be playing at Heinz Hall. I was disapointed when I read this because I also like the Benedum better.

Dreamgirls was at Heinz Hall this season. If you click on the link for Hair, it will change to Heinz Hall. Also, in the preview video, it says the show will be at Heinz Hall. This article in the Post-Gazette confirms this, too.

Heinz, while smaller than the Benedum, is not an intimate theater. It is a big theater. My gripe is when they converted it they homogonized it & took all of the earmth out of it. It now looks like a hospital it is so antiseptic.
thank you bway1261, i stand corrected. and mr roxy i once again agree with you 100%.

RE: Heinz Hall Hospital. I can't say I've been to too many hospitals with marble walls and columns, red velvet, and crystal chandeliers. The Benedum seats more by a couple hundred and has a larger stage space; Heinz Hall has better acoustics.

Susan Lucci will be excellent in NEXT TO NORMAL.
The Benedum holds (roughly) 2800, while Heinz Hall holds (roughly) 2600. Evidently (according to rumour) The Pgh Cultural Trust wants to own Heinz Hall, and Heinz Hall is against that---so Heinz gets the worst of the Bwy Series. Heinz is specifically geared towards the Symphony and the Pops, but can handle a large show. Both theaters are too large for a number of the shows that play there---Doubt for example (at the Benedum) and Rent (the sound gets muddy in both theaters in the balcony).
