I'm looking for a play to produce with a complex male lead aged 50+ and a 2-4 person cast. A drama is ideal, but all genres and time periods will be considered. Age and gender of the remaining cast members is not a concern. I know that's not much to go on, but any all all recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

Hmmmm, good question. Still, I can't produce any play recommendations.
The Goat or Who is Sylvia's lead Martin just turned 50 when the play begins. The other Adult male is the same age. 4 person cast 3m 1w.
There are tons of plays I can think of. Almost any Albee play has a prominent male character in the 50+ age range.

We've looked into The Gin Game. It's just not the right thing.
Visiting Mr. Green sounds interesting. I don't know it will it work with an obviously non jewish actor who's a little younger? The actor I have is 67 and in great physical shape.
Thanks for these recommendations and keep them coming.

american buffalo by david mamet, who's afraid of virginia woolf albee, actually any albee and mamet plays would work for the most part. the dinner party by neil simon has 6 people, waiting for godot by beckett, Nixon's Nixon by Russell Lees, last of the boys by Steven Dietz

"Proof" was the first that came to mind. Also "Prelude To A Kiss".
Plaza Suite by Neil Simon - your lead actor playing the central male role in each of the three stories, but perhaps you could use different actors to play the women, or not. Maybe it's not that complex, but it'd showcase variety.
The Goat and Plaza Suite are very good ideas.
What about The Subject Was Roses or Seascape?
