Which plays and musicals do you think are due for a Broadway revival?
Feel free to include who you think should star/direct/choreograph/etc.
Dreamgirls
The Jerry Herman catalog could use a revival (or three):
Hello, Dolly!
Mame
Mack & Mabel
La Cage aux Folles
The Last Five Years should go to Broadway. The score is mind-blowing and with the right Jamie/Cathy, it could do reasonably well.
I'd give just about everything but my life for a revival of The Music Man.
There is a cannon of about 10/15 musicals & the same number of plays that always get revived no matter what. Anything not on either list and people can hold their hand somewhere waiting for a revival.
There seems to be a Gypsy revival every 10 years.

Ah yes, the classic American drama: Cannon!
I'd like to see an Oklahoma revival that's actually fun, unlike the 2003 dirge.

I would love a revival of The Human Comedy. A forgotten masterpiece.
I'd love to see
Me and My Girl
No! No! Nanette!

City of Angels
The Will Rogers Follies
Barnum
Agree with Goth except for Will. Doubt it will be revived that often as it is a really big show to produce.
Barnum with Hugh J & City Of Angels with anybody.
I'd also love a Candide revival given Lincoln Center production values and using the John Caird book (cut by about 10 minutes)
I would love to see One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - it is one of my favorite books, plays and movies. It was on Broadway in 1963 starring Kirk Douglas as Randle McMurphy and Gene Wilder as Billy Bibbit. It was revived off-Broadway in 1971, and again on Broadway by Steppenwolf Theatre Co. in 2001 with Gary Sinise as McMurphy. It won the Tony Award for Best Play Revival.
Dream casting ... Leonardo Dicaprio as McMurphy.

I've thought for the last several years (ever since I discovered the recording in high school) that I would love a revival of A Day in Hollywood / A Night in the Ukraine. I don't know why The Best in the World isn't a standard, because that is one hell of a story song. Priscilla Lopez earned her five-years-overdue Tony for her performance in the original production. I admit, i've never seen the show. Does anyone recall the original? Was it as fun as the recording has always led me to believe?
I would love for Schwartz's 'The Baker's Wife ' to finally have a run on Broadway.
Agree with Skies
Baker's is Schwartz's best score with Pippin after that & Wicked a distant 3 rd
Fiorello!
I love revivals.. not so much the 'reimagine' ones with no sets.
PLEASE:
The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas
Dreamgirls
Sunset Boulevard
Is it too much to ask for a revival of Damn Yankees with the original orchestrations?
