I would never want to force your hand!
(Okay, sorry about the Evita song lyrics. Never start a thread when listening to a cast recording with Tim Rice lyrics.)
Anyhow, speaking of cast recordings, I have a very stupid question, so please try and be patient with me. How long do you think I'll be able to buy a concept recording of "A Tale Of Two Cities?" I know I can order one off of their website, but I don't know how long after the show's closing that'll stay open. (I didn't buy one before because I was holding out for a real cast recording. Now, that doesn't look so likely.) I have no money of my own, and I wanted to ask for it for Christmas, but I don't know how long it'll still be on sale.
How long after a show's closing are the official websites typically open? And do you think the concept recording would be available on Amazon?
Well, I would imagine they'll want to use the concept recording to entice regional theatres or those who book national tours into buying the rights. So I'm going to guess that it'll be available for awhile.
It was on sale on the official website long before the show opened on Broadway so I assume it will remain so long after the show closes.
Well, thank you for your reassuring words! I wouldn't want the chance to buy the CD to slip through my fingers, especially since I never got to see the show live.
Not necessarily...they won't want to pay to keep it active. Besides...the demo would be available through whomever holds the rights to the show.
But I would say it'll be operational a month after the closing.
Its on Amazon right now incase you hadn't looked -$29.99
WOW. Thank you for pointing that out! It certainly wasn't the last time I looked... (Don't I always say that...)
It's so much cheaper on the Tale website that I'll only buy it off of Amazon if the site goes down, but now I know I have nothing to worry about. Sorry for creating this thread, and again, refer to the thread title..
dramamama611, it wouldn't shock me if the website was up for longer. The Pirate Queen's website is still up and running after the show has been closed for over a year.
