Wow. Just... wow.
An all star cast of today's Broadway leads. In a Pokemon musical. This is one of those unexpected flukes of musical theater- Dee Roscioli, Andrew Rannels, Dominic Nolfi and more recognizable names together in one show, and it's Pokemon. Anyone get to see this back in its day?
The CD is painfully hilarious.
(And no, I never got to see it; I was already in college when Pokemon was huge.)
I thought this was a joke thread...but then I googled. Jesus christ.
There was a Pokemon musical?
Damn, how'd that past me. I would have definitely loved to've seen it for the lulz.
"Yes, the brutalities of progress are called revolutions. When they are over, men recognize that the human race has been harshly treated but it has moved forward." - Les Miserables
It's epic lulz. Pick up the CD at any cost (hopefully free) to understand.
Awesome! I love Pokemon, and should probably be more ashamed than I am that I own several of the soundtrack CDs. How awesome that 'What Kind of Pokemon are You?' made it in, and what a shame '2B a Master' didn't!
I have the CD, it is hellish.
Check out the commercial.

I looked on Ebay, couldnt find it. But I did find a video.
Pokemon the Musical
Oh, HELL no.
I hated those damn cards. My kids were obsessed with that sh*t. Please tell me there's not a Yugioh musical.
I wouldn't be surprised.

The cast recording is pretty scary. I'd probably understand it better if I had seen an episode at some point.

And they still didn't make a Power Ranger musical.....
I would have never watched it even if they did have one.
There was a live Power Rangers tour, but it wasn't a musical. I remember seeing it when I was a kid. They didn't have the actors from the show so the first part of the performance was a video of the actors from the TV show and then when they used their powers the actual live cast took the stage in their little Power Ranger outfits. It was pretty lame and there's a video...

I've never seen it. I knew they were going to tour it in Europe a few years ago but they cancelled it due to the 9/11 Attacks, or so I've been told.
I was REALLY into Pokemon when it was in its prime and I remember the commercials for that tour being shown while the TV show was on every afternoon. I actually think it looks pretty cool. A trainwreck, yes, but still not too badly done. Andrew Rannells with long purple hair... wow. Haha
The cast recording is hysterical. They're all trying so hard!

Hey, don't knock the Pokemon musical!!! I saw it when I was little, and I really enjoyed it! I still remember a lot of it. It had giant, cool-looking Pokemon puppets like Venasaur and Electrode, and the MechaMew2 puppet was HUGE and awesome. I really liked the songs in the show, and I actually liked the story! If I saw it today, I would probably laugh and scoff at it, but when I saw it at seven or eight years old, it definitely did its job and was a lot of fun.
I wish I had known about this when I was still into Pokemon. The video game, card game, and television show defined my childhood. The most the cast album can do for me now is either provide me with nostalgia or a good laugh.

I watched the commercial and heard some of the songs... OMG. How amazingly horrible is this musical?
If you can, find and listen to "It Will All Be Mine" and "Misty's Song". You must.
