re: Post roles that you can picture yourself playing.

That I could actually play (either now or when I get older):
Martha Jefferson or Abigail Adams - 1776
The Witch or the Baker's Wife - Into the Woods
Miss Pennywise - Urinetown
Reno Sweeney - Anything Goes
Anna - The King and I (they'll just have to deal with my exotic features. Ha.)
Sonia - Godspell
Eva - Evita
Maria or one of the nuns - The Sound of Music
Georgia Hendricks - Curtains (if I really kicked my ass in dance class. I do know the choreography, though)
Christine - Phantom (strangely enough)
Claudia or Luisa - Nine
Gloria - Damn Yankees
The Beggar Woman - Sweeney Todd
Aldonza or Antonia - Man of La Mancha
Elphaba or Nessarose - Wicked
Joanne, Marta, or Amy - Company (I've played Marta and would like another shot)

That I want to play but never will:
John Dickinson - 1776 (I'm not male and 40)
Velma Kelly - Chicago (I can't dance)
Sheila - A Chorus Line (I can't dance)
Anita - West Side Story (Are we seeing a pattern?)
Carlotta - Phantom (Not a coloratura opera singer)

Elphaba - Wicked
Eve - Children of Eden
Daisy - Side Show

Louise - Gypsy
Ariel - The Little Mermaid
Cinderella (now), Baker's Wife/Witch (older) - Into The Woods

So yeah...there's a difference between dream roles, and roles I could picture myself playing. Pretty much the only overlap is

Jo March (Little Women)

but I'm okay with that.

re: Post roles that you can picture yourself playing.

Well, I could only see myself in a limited number of roles (not that I have those aspirations or anything);
Jan in Grease
Beth or Amy in Little Women (probably Beth)
Ursula in Little Mermaid when I'm older

Roles I'd like to play:
Edith Bouvier Beale/Little Edie in Grey Gardens
The Chaperone in the Drowsy Chaperone (when older, that is a possibility, I suppose)
Eponine in Les Miserables
Penny in Hairspray
Eva in Evita
Norma in Sunset Boulevard

re: Post roles that you can picture yourself playing.

Speaking as one half of Shapusen (my partner and I both use this account), here are a couple parts that I would love to play, but never will since I'm out of school now and don't plan on acting much in the future:

Audrey - Little Shop
Christine Colgate - Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
DeDee Truit - Opposite of Sex (Why won't get on/off broadway?!?)
Kira - Xanadu (are we noticing a Kerry Butler trend?)
Mary Lane - Reefer Madness
Toffee- Zombie Prom
Young Little Edie - Grey Gardens
Cinderella - Into the Woods
. . . etc.

This is a fun idea!

I am pretty realistic. I am 4'11 and too short for many of the roles for women out there. However, a few of the roles that I could do which my height would probably work well for are....

Glinda in Wicked
Eponine in Les Mis
Margot or Kate in Legally Blonde ( love Elle but way to short to ever make it work)
Kim in Bye Bye Birdie
Dainty June in Gypsy

Dream roles...

Eponine in Les Mis
Elle in Blonde
Amber/Penny in Hairspray
Liesel/ Sound of Music
Glinda in Wicked
Sandy in Grease
Val in Chorus Line
Mimi in Rent
Kim in Birdie
June in Gypsy
Anyone in SA!

re: Post roles that you can picture yourself playing.

Realistically?

Musicals:
Title role in Sweeney Todd (duh)
Javert in Les Miz
John Wilkes Booth in Assassins (I've previously played Czolgosz)
Rutledge in 1776
Fred Graham/Petruccio in Kiss Me Kate
Satan/Warmup Man in Jerry Springer: The Opera
And a role that I think I would be great in but I know would seem like an unlikely casting choice: Molina in Kiss of the Spider Woman (I've previously played the Warden)

Straight plays:
Title role in Hamlet
Biff in Death of a Salesman
Austin in True West
George in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (I've previously played Nick)

Many of these roles are for men in their thirties and forties; I'm only 25, and even though I look several years older than I am I know I'll have to wait a while to play some of these (if they ever happen), but I'm patient! I also like being in new or newish plays that no one has seen before.

re: Post roles that you can picture yourself playing.

(I'm 16 but I am imagining these as if I were in a young cast so I could play some of the older roles)

Bobby in COMPANY
Man in Chair in DROWSY
Joe in SUNSET BLVD.
Major Bovier in GREY GARDENS
Herbie in GYPSY
Melchior in SPRING AWAKENING
Moritz in SPRING AWAKENING
Tevye in FIDDLER
Julian in 42ND STREET

I also think it's fun to adapt female roles into males so I can play then. In that place I would love to play the male versions of:

MARGO in APPLAUSE
NORMA in SUNSET BLVD.
ROSE in GYPSY
BOTH EDIE'S played by Christine in GREY GARDENS

You look absolutely terrific, honestly.

re: Post roles that you can picture yourself playing.

Honestly, a lot of the roles I would like to play are male roles. I don't know why, I guess I just find them more dynamic and interesting than the female parts, in general. Since this is roles I'd actually imagine myself PLAYING than rather what parts I would WANT TO play, than that narrows the list down a bit (ignoring the fact that I can't sing to save my life):

Lucy (Jekyll and Hyde)
Roxie (Chicago)
Mrs. Lovett [if I was a buncha years older] (Sweeney Todd)
Bow before the cuteness of my cousin!!! ;]

re: Post roles that you can picture yourself playing.

Roles I could do...
Collins - Rent
Coalhouse - Ragtime
Mister - Color Purple
Harpo - Color Purple
Robert - Company
Jimmy Early - Dreamgirls
Sebastian - Little Mermaid

I dream to be anyone in Les Miz but you have to belt insanely high for a lead guy part, and vocally im not there...yet...working on it!

Most of these are well into the future, but:

Little Red in Into the Woods
Penny in Hairspray
Eponine in Les Mis
Mary in Merrily We Roll Along
Petra in A Little Night Music
Squeaky in Assassins
Christine in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Logainne in Spelling Bee
Amy or Marta in Company
Reno in Anything Goes

Some of the roles that I can see myself playing include:

The Phantom of the Opera (The Phantom of the Opera)
Robert (Company)
The Master of Ceremonies (Cabaret)
Leopold Bloom (The Producers)
Lawrence Jameson (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels)
Sweeney Todd (Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street)
Anthony Hope (Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street)
Lieutenant Frank Cioffi (Curtains)
any male role in "Avenue Q"

re: Post roles that you can picture yourself playing.

As far as roles I'm pretty sure I could do:

Seymour -- Little Shop of Horrors
Todd -- Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (granted, I'm not sure I could do it eight times a week. But every now and then in the shower I sound DAMN good belting out 'Epiphany'.)
Mark -- RENT
Officer Lockstock -- Urinetown
The Baker -- Into the Woods
Leaf Coneybear -- The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
Bobby -- Company
Princeton -- Avenue Q (I'm a pretty good sock-puppeteer.)
