Lets pray that will happen in the very near future, I have tickets for shows in january
When BOTH sides come to their senses and decide to act like adults rather than children in the sandbox.

Well said, they need to get a mediator and figure this out now. They really are acting like children.

I have no predictions.
They may go on for another couple of weeks.

back to work this week. i just feel it.
I suspect the writers will end before they do. I also think this is going to drone on until close to Christmas.

I'm with localonecrew. I have a feeling it'll be resolved rather soon.
Just as an aside, localone, I was passing by the Music Box the other day and saw a gentleman on the picketlines chanting "ATTICA! ATTICA!" I happily joined in as a passed by and everyone started laughing...if you happened to have been there (or if it was someone you knew), let him know it made my day.

I'm inclined to agree with Anthony's prognosis. The real bitch about that happening is that the lean months are ahead, so even if they get it resolved by X-mas, some shows will have lost momentum (those that have any) that no amount of praise from the critics will be able to see them through. I don't WANT this to happen, but I'm not counting on it.

I have a feeling the tide is turning.
The owners fight to keep the Grich closed was a large mistake that has turned local public sentiment against them. They have made some miscalculations based on the advice they are getting from their labor lawyers and you can see splits starting to develop among them. If it goes on much longer I think you will see more court cases from investors that are caught in the middle of this. They didn't invest their money only to see their shows closed down by Clear Channel entertainment and their quest to take over the entire entertainment world.
My prediction: It ends in the next 2 weeks.
Well, the Court cases have started their inevitable climb upwards. I would like to think my day was it, upcoming Weds. but sooner is always better.
I think Disney was and is the key. They will force Nederlanders to open their shows and this will turn the tide. Disney has big stakes in this game and the strike is stealing their thunder right now.
This is the one card I felt would settle the strike. Like I said before they know what the numbers are now so there is a player who will not have to negotiate to get what they want. Either they get their shows up or they get refunds and retributions.
It is sad it has to come to this but whatever it takes to end this strike as quickly and as painlessly as possible. They are worse off then they projected. If Nederlanders caves the rest will have a very long and costly fight. I will say nice try and next time, don't threaten a Lock out, ever! Also, help St. Martin find a nice textile job someone far, far away from Broadway please.

Amen, Jordangirl...I agree with you 100%.
Yeah- I think as the holidays approach, people will start getting really restless with money tightening, and both sides will want this to end.
I am going into the city Saturday (and going to see if I can get anything). While I'm there, I need to return my Little Mermaid ticket. I've heard warnings about crossing the picket line to get to the box office. Has anyone run into problems returning their ticket at the box office?
By the way, how has YF lotto been doing?
There's no one in the box offices.
Yeah, I thought the box offices were closed.
I predict they will go back to the table this weekend and possibly end this.
So the Lunt is closed? Damn. I'm debating whether or not to go in the city this weekend.
I hope localonecrew is right, but I think it's going to be a while.
Right or wrong, the League feels the stagehands grabbed too many concessions and rules from the old-school producers over the '90's and early '00's. The new wave of young producers decided 2 years ago to take some of that back (hence, starting the $20m fund back then). They knew the stagehands would put up a fight, but they didn't know how much. Once it was clear the stagehands are standing their ground (via the ongoing strike), the main strategy that makes sense for the Producers is to use the full $20m to try to bleed the stagehands strike fund ($4m) over time to the point of having trouble making rent. It makes more sense for them to use up the whole fund and draw this out to try to get all the concessions than to go back to work now.
I'm not defending that position, but trying to explain it since the stagehands offered concessions at the negotiation and the producers didn't budge.
The entire holiday season will be lost.

millie_dillmount, what everyone's saying is right. There's no need to worry about crossing the picket line to the box office because there *is* no box office right now. If you bought it at the box office you will need to mail it someplace to get a refund--there will be a sign at the theatre with the information you need.
I also unfortunately think this is going to be a long haul. I do agree with Mooo though: I think the misstep with the Grinch has cost the League a fair amount of support and made them a fair amount of new enemies, some of whom are powerful. Before that, it was very easy for them to say "look at the stagehands, ruining Broadway for the kids," but the moment they locked that theatre, they showed their bad faith for what it was. I know a number of people who have switched their support to the stagehands based on what happened with the Grinch.

hopefully, with this weekend's negotiations...
I have tickets for three shows between December 16 and 30. I'm not scared for any of them. And, ashbash, were those meeting confirmed?
