I think this will do really well in the UK. Personally, I didn’t enjoy the show. However, the West End audiences tend to enjoy these commercial film to stage adaptations more the US audiences. Ghost, Sister Act and Legally Blonde were more successful in the UK.

I wonder if Barks will transfer with it? The title probably means more in the US, but she means more in the UK.
Actually, if Karl (and Orfeh) wanted to do 6 months in London, I bet the producers would pony up the money since he's an Olivier Award winner.

Samantha Barks is about as famous in the UK as Orfeh is. I doubt any of the three leads will transfer.
Now that Amber Davies has proved herself worthy I think she'd make a great Vivienne. Maybe Julian Ovenden as Edward? Although no doubt it'll be some ex-boyband member who'll be cast. I'd love to see Rachel Wooding or Natalie McQueen as Kit.

I don’t think Amber Davies has proved herself worthy. She’s got average reviews in a show that she does not have to carry. Her acting is very limited and her experience does not warrant carrying a whole show.

I wouldn't be surprised if Pretty Woman premieres at the Savoy or Dominion theaters. I expect a medium sized run of 1-2 years...

Amber has definitely gotten better than average reviews. The role is pretty major for her first go and she a great 11 o'clock number that shows she's vocally capable.
Let's not forget that despite her career choices she's still just as trained as every member of that cast. Besides, it's Pretty Woman not Evita.... she doesn't need to be Meryl Streep.
I'm not exactly her biggest fan but I feel like she'd be as good a choice as anybody else. She'd be fairly cheap to hire and would come with quite a fan base.

I disagree. Her reviews have been average, I haven’t read a single rave.
And her version of Get Out ... is weak.m: it lacks strength and an emotional connection to the material.
She might be trained, but has very little experience.

Evidently you’ve got a vendetta against that girl. Reviews aren’t defined by either avenger or a rave. I said she got better than average; which she did.
And weak? While I’m the minority of people thinking she shouldn’t be playing that role I’ll still be the first to say she sings the hell out of it. There’s nothing weak about it - that girl has some insane vocal strength. You can choose to disagree but I’m not offering an opinion I’m stating a fact.

This show is all kinds of awful. But it will do well in the West End. Everyone around me was a tourist from the UK.

I'm probably thinking out of my ass, but I remember reading somewhere that Groundhog Day was going back to Europe, and that Karl was going to reprise his role as Phil Connors in a few years time.
Does anyone else remember this?

I think Groundhog Day is dead in the water. The producers really wanted the Adelphi Theatre but, Waitress beat them to it. GHD could try and get the Savory but, once again, it's an open secret that Mean Girls is moving in next. GHD best chance to return will be a year from now, Tim Minchin is going on a UK tour this fall and he can probably drum up some attention by playing a few songs.
I don't want to be a debbie down but I highly doubt GHD will return anytime soon.
