Sounds interesting so far

Oh, Lord WHO is that with the shrill annoying voice in Track 3???
What the hell is #18? It sounds like it should be in Rent, not Phantom.

I'll repost what I said in the other thread:
I like how Raoul appears to be a cranky jerk, presumably so Erik will look better by comparison.
And boy sopranos creep me out. I also dunno who the Trio are, but they sound annoying.
Where are the tracks...the link shows nothing about sound clips!

Does anyone think this sounds incredibly hokey, or at least put together with a kazoo, a tambourine, and a toy piano? I'll admit I'm not a Webber fan (save for Evita, and some other songs), but the music, even in these short 30 second clips, isn't helping things at all.
HAHAHAHA @ track 18!
wait, so....Meg wants to marry the phantom? is that what I'm understanding from disc two?
I know it's unfair to judge based on such brief and poorly selected clips but really, there's not a thing here that sounds interesting to me.
It sounds like a very eclectic ALW score. A mixture of so many of his sounds and styles from Evita to Phantom to Starlight Express and even By Jeeves! I do think the Coney Island Waltz sounds gorgeous, very Sunset Blvd to me. I'll give it a shot once the whole thing releases.

So this score is The Woman in White with new lyrics? That is all i keep hearing.
OMG, #18

I actually love 18. This show is going to be crazy!!
Wow.......this is kinda intersting. After getting the free Coney Island Waltz a while back, this isn't what I expected. Also, I liked the old version of Till I Hear You Sing. The background orchestrations just aren't what I expected. They sound to modernish (like Young Frankenstein, Shrek etc.)
I like #18 too but it sounds so out of place. lol I can't wait to hear the entire album instead of a couple of seconds of tracks.
It sounds a lot like The Woman in White with random songs from The Beautiful Game thrown in that don't really fit with the rest of the score. The book and lyrics sound atrocious. I still want to like it though. I'm not going to give up until I've heard the entire thing.
The cover artwork is dreadful. Please tell me it was not Dewynters.
The few clips I listened to were not good at all. I was listening to Jesus Christ Superstar on my iPod on the way home from work today (love it!), and will be seeing Patti (and Mandy) this week and am looking forward to her Don't Cry For Me, Argentina. (Ergo, I like a lot of ALW's work.) But Love Never Dies does not sound promising.
Is the Entr'acte supposed to sound like Carousel?
Track 18 sounds like something from Repo: The Genetic Opera.
It is an extremely eclectic mix of music. I wish every song had the lush orchestrated feel that the Coney Island Waltz had, but oh well. I do agree that they picked terrible parts of the songs to preview.

Oh my gosh maxximumvolume I was thinking the exact same thing!!!
I can't get them to play! Is there supposed to be Play button next to the track? I clicked on the songs but it just opens them in another window....
Yeah, it's not working for me either. I can click on the song titles but there's no play button. Shucks.
The play buttons seem to have disappeared. They were there earlier.
They're there now. It's the loud speaker icon to the left of the individual tracks.
