I think she's very accomodating considering the circumstances.
But she seems shy, around people.
I think that's what makes her concert performances so much more entertaining.
And she has some potty mouth.
But I love her the most when she does her LI accent.
oh god, yes, its hysterical! she sounds like the nanny
and i'm officially in love with the song she wrote about her sister. it brought me to tears. its so beautiful.

Idina is a very nice and and amazing beyond Wicked, I loved RENT and her album, she is awesome beyond the green. You go Idina.
I'm back! It's been a long 30 hours, but I guess I got a lot done!
Saturday's 9:30 was better than Fridays. The crowed was pretty diverse. There were some older women, the tweens, and some couples. When she took the stage she said something about enjoying the late show because there were actually people over 14...and she didn't have to cringe when using 4 letter words or worry about mom's getting pissed off...and it was up hill from there. She was so relaxed.
She brought her camera on stage and started taking random pictures. She also showed girls that have a "big schnoz" how to take a picture...then she walked around actually taking pictures with people.
A definite highlight was when she stepped away from the microphone to sing "Company." It was just her voice in purest form, with nothing but a piano backing her.
Like A Prayer is amazing. She sings the hell out of this song. The arrangement is amazing. She had the whole place singing with her.
Today I saw Dirty Rotten Scoundrels at 3. Norbert is still the man. I thought the new lottery seats were okay, nothing more, nothing less. We were in box BB, which is the second of three on the right...which I guess is the best box to be in. My friend and I won back to back so the 4 of us ended up sitting together so I guess that was a win.
Now, I'm headed to bed, but I promised an update when I got back from NYC!
She was really good at the 7:30. She didn't seem to care about what the moms thought, she said what was on her mind.
good.
Did she come out after the 9:30 show? She didn't after the 7:30. And besides, I already have her autograph from Wicked so I wasnt going to wait. Just curious.
Unfortunatly I didn't get to any of the concerts but i heard two of them on a website and it sounded unreal. I'm insanly jealous listening to everyone's stories! I loved the improv songs a lot, she can really do just about anything

She didn't come out after the 9:30pm show either. From what I heard she made a bee-line for her room as soon as she was done.
It was a fantastic show, I'm so glad I decided to make the trip to Boston this weekend instead of going home to work on packing to move!!
I need to find a way to get myself into the MV show!
Let me say I attended the late shows both Friday and Saturday and she rocked the house. She was dirty and a little raunchy and it was fabulous. The mothers of all the 13 year olds were taken a back I think but oh well I say.
She did not come out after the show as it was a little bit of a mob scene. I was lucky enough though to be in the Charles Hotel swanky bar NOIR having a couple of cocktails by myself and Idina and her entourage did come down and were looking to have a boozy fabulous time. Some lingering people from the show did approach her for a photo and autograph. I didn't want to bother as it seem like they wanted to chill and have a drinky so I just sent them over a round of tequila shots. Got a nice nod of acknowledge - thanks woman!

This thirtysomething is going to back up here just a second...
There were KIDS these shows? If I recall correctly, isn't the Regatta Bar a 21+ - or in certain circumstances, 18+ - establishment?
That miffs me, because it was sold out and I couldn't get tickets, and I'm actually *old* enough to frequent the venue!
Arrgh.

Peach, this will probably miff you even more: They were selling SRO tickets at the freckin door!
I thought of you...I was like I wish I had her (his?) number.
Can you make it to MV?
Yeah, I've learned that if you're in town while an Idina show is going on, and you want tickets, it's a good idea to show up anyway. At the Zipper Theatre in December, they said tickets were sold out online, but they sold more seats and standing room at the door.

Ah! Figures. I actually almost went to The Charles that night, but I had been traveling for work most of the week, and the week before, and I was just plain tired...so I stayed home with a pizza and watched All That Jazz. Ah well - lessons learned.
I'm seriously toying with the idea of going to MV. I'm just wondering how I'll get back (I'll have to check the ferry schedule to see how late it runs) because getting the car on the ferry and a hotel room Labor Day weekend is going to be nearly impossible. I'm a dork for always saving things for the last minute! My own fault, I guess.
Oh - and peach is a "her!"
I'm not paying to get a room after, I'm going to get the first boat out in the morning. I have to be in Boston by 9ish.
Stupid school.
SO you were able to get the necessary identification then?
And yeah...the 9:30 crowd Saturday night was pretty good. Not too many annoying little kids. I love her subtle eye-rolls at some of the comments people make, lol.
Awesome.
I am glad she's being herself and not letting her younger fans hold her back.
I saw her Saturday at 9:30 and it was, as already stated, awesome. I loved how relaxed and down to earth she was...a little giddy, even. She was probably just happy that those 4 shows were almost over. She has a great rapport with her band. I'm so glad I went.
I'm not that gurl? Was it Friday night she and her band went to the hotel bar? Because my friend and I were there for quite some time on Saturday night (They had a drink there that was so good, I just had to have 3!) and we didn't see anybody come in.
Broadwaygirl- kinda. I'm going to try to borrow someone elses that I somewhat resemble, and just say that the picture was taken when I was 16. You only have to get a new picture every 10 years in MA.
:)
CROSSING MY FINGERS!
bwayfan3 - it was Saturday night that she came in probably around midnight-1230'ish and stayed well beyond last call. They were in a back corner booth have a boozy good time. I was at the bar having yet another manhattan when they sauntered in. I am sorry that you missed them.
oh that's fun. Idina the drunk.
don't yell at me- I'm kidding.
...kinda.

I was at both Saturday shows. Fun, but I'd heard it all before on the concerts floating around on the 'net. But she sounded great. And looked gorgeous. Unfortunately, she was a bitch when I tried to meet her. There were three of us standing there, calm and quiet, and she signed for two and looked at me and said she was tired and didn't have time - translated: I need to hit the bar right away. Disappointing. But what can you do? Maybe she mistook me for those younger fans people say she hates so much. I've always looked young for my age. Who knows?
oy.
Guys, Idina isn't nice, and she never signed for people after any shows...ever. She's a hermit, and she should just stay inside because she's a miserable being.
< /sarcastic>
I think Idina is one of the most considerate people I've ever met. Maybe you shouldn't have hunted her down on a night she didn't feel like meeting people.
