re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

With an usher 15 seats away having the time of his life I thought I would take the moment! lol

Is there a way of putting photos onto YouTube so I can post them here?
I thought it was just videos.

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

Mama, what row were you sitting in when you took that video?
I'm trying to decide between center of C in Dress Circle or center of C in Stalls.

You need to use Flickr or Photobucket or something like that for photos.
PM me if you need help

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

I'm seeing the big pink bus musical on March 28th. I am so excited already! The last time I felt like this was seeing Petula Clark in Sunset Boulevard!!!!

I was thinking after reading posts about the canopy signs, tjhe last time I was in The Palace Theatre was to see "Woman In White" - can you imagine two more different shows!!!!

WIW made me giddy for all the wrong reasons - PQOTD will, I'm sure make me giddy for all the right reasons.

Look out Bar Code after curtain down - I'm a-coming!!!!!

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

Won't be going on the 25th now peeps.
Will be there 2mrw ,Wed 18thth.
Also decided not to go to the press night on Monday.
So that means I'm gonna concentrate on the 'Great Big Pink Gala Opening Performance' on Tuesday 24th!
If my plans change for the 25th (unforseen crap) I will, of course, love to meet up for a drink or 3!

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

So, just to recap- who's going Tuesday, the Gala performance?

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

Sadly not me. Tell me mama, was there a round of applause from the expats in the audience when the neon harbour bridge appears?

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

I cant wait to read thew reviews, of course i will get all posted on here

Im hearing such mixed things about this, many are saying its great fun and looks sensational especially the costumes, others have said that its taken what heart the film did have and thrown it out the window, one friend described it as the most expensive drag show hes seen (and not in a good way)
Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

Some people are going to the show with a heavy heart -its a fluffy peice of theatre, Ok its the most expensive peice of fluffy fun the West End has seen in years. People should just go and be prepared to have a fun, camp time. Serious theatre is down the road with Dame Dench at 8pm - 30 minutes is enough time to change your tickets and let someone have the 'ride' of their life!

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

-as to weather the expats went mad at the opening I cant honestly tell you as the whole place went a little loud as the show opened! x

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

I would have loved to go to the Gala performance but I don't qualify as a celebrity - not even a Z-lister! I'm sure when the theatre staff see my outfit on the 25th they'll be sorry I wasn't there the night before. I will of course make the most of my own little photo opportunity.

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

I saw it Monday (which happened to be one of the press nights) and really enjoyed it. i was in the front row of the dress/grand circle.. whatever the first one is (mezzanine for me) and a great view. I loved how the little statues all had mini-disco balls! OOh, and I got a ping pong!

I read a review in the London Reporter, whatever free paper they hand out here, and I have to agree that they will have no problems winning Best Costumes!
And I would also not want to guess how much their insurance is!!!

SPOILER!!!!!

And as far as Donavan looking uncomfortable... I dunno, I think that added more the fact he was married and has a kid!
I once heard someone describe her (Ruthie Henshall) singing as sounding as though she's trying to swallow a whole meatball slightly larger than her windpipe. (The same person compared Michael Ball's singing to sounding as though he's sitting on a washing machine on spin cycle and Colm Wilkinson's to a man with a paralyzed lip trying to eat cottage cheese.) --- Schmerg_The_Impaler

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

I'm going back on April 2nd - I've also booked tickets for my b/day in July but that's FAR too long to wait!

I'm really looking forward to the reviews, fingers crossed there aren't any technical hitches on Opening Night. I also hope all the current controversies about restricted view seats can be sorted out and don't overshadow proceedings too much.

I have to say that I was a little bit unsure about Jason Donovan's performance when I saw Priscilla on 10th March because he didn't seem to throw himself into the enjoyment of the whole thing as much as his co-stars did. However, on reflection, his part does require more mixed emotions and a sense of gravitas to make the story work and he may have been concentrating on providing that. That being said, I came away more touched by Tony Sheldon's Bernadette - it will be interesting to see how much the rest of the cast have caught up with the 'head start' he had with his character.

Roll on April! :)
Seen some shows in my time....
