Saturday Night

No mystery Mama

My friend couldn't go so I sold his ticket to someone off another Board.

Now just have to hope he turns up.

Saturday Night

Well he did turn up and what a night !

You do lose some of the action being in the front stalls but I did get a ping pong ball ! Seeing the show again also meant I did notice things I hadn?t seen before and fully appreciate the costumes ? particularly the leather gladiators !

Craig was on for Jason and I cannot fault his performance ? but then again I find it hard to fault anything in this show.

To borrow a phrase from another of my favourite shows ? ?It was a night out I will remember for a very long time?.

Saturday Night

Hi all,

Considering buying Balcony seats for tomorrow (Wednesday) evening in the hopes of being upgraded. What are the chances of that, do you think??
#504

Saturday Night

Upgrade? Unlikely I would think.
#505

Saturday Night

Oh really? Hmm!

I just remember reading some reviews saying the upper levels were closed off and so some people were moved to better seats.

Perhaps the show is busy enough nowadays for this not to be needed? Has anyone been midweek recently?

Saturday Night

Can't comment on the mid-week thing but surely the fact that Priscilla hasn't appeared at tkts booth yet must mean that it is doing ok ?

If you are after a cheaper bit of "Pink Fluff" then why not go to La Cage instead where you can always pick up a discounted seat.

Saturday Night

No, see something new.

The movie

Watched the movie on Sunday afternoon and really missed the songs !

If they can do it with The Producers surely this is a show that is crying out for a filmed version ?

The movie / charity performance

I like the movie but not half as much as I love the musical - a more fitting match of the medium to the message IMHO.

I see Priscilla is offering special tickets for a charity performance on 1st October in aid of TheatreMAD:

Join TheatreMAD, their celebrity host and guests from the worlds of stage and screen for what promises to be a truly glittering evening to raise awareness and funds to support those living with HIV and AIDS.

A limited number of tickets are available to purchase in each of the following tiers:

£175 - Desert Queen - includes pre-show reception, top price Ticket to see Priscilla, a glass of champagne, a souvenir brochure and after-show party.

£125 - Desert Diva - includes top price Ticket to see Priscilla, a glass of champagne, a souvenir brochure and after-show party.

£75 - Desert Princess - includes top price Ticket to see Priscilla, a glass of champagne and a souvenir brochure.

I've already saved over £31.76 towards buying a Desert Diva ticket - all contributions gratefully received!

Seriously though, anyone else thinking of going to this event?

The movie / charity performance

Mark Inscoe is on for Bernadette tonight (Sept 14th).

Mark Inscoe

Any word on whether this was a pre-planned substituition or a last minute change?

Bit of both really.

Mark Inscoe

Hopefully Mr S is being given time off for good behaviour to continue his birthday celebrations (and not suffering the after-effects of anything he might have consumed over the weekend)!

Mark Inscoe

That's good to hear, I might have to try to catch Mark Inscoe during his next stint as Bernadette, see for myself how his performance compares.

From what I hear there were 7-8 others off tonight and much juggling round of parts. Must have made some of the costume changes even more helter-skelter than usual.

Mark Inscoe

Mark Inscoe is next on the first week of November.

Mark Inscoe

Apparently Mark Inscoe got to slip into Bernadette's shoes again last night as Tony Sheldon hurt his leg during the matinee and couldn't go on in the evening (according to a post I read on another site). Not sure how serious the injury is - hopefully not very. :-/

Yep, thats correct and its very likely that Tony will be off the rest of the week and maybe in to next week.
Mark Inscoe is on holidays next week and if Tony doesn't return it will be second cover, Phillip Arran, that will put on Bernadette's heels.

Tony Sheldon injured

Thanks for the info Mama. Hasn't been a very good week for poor Mr Sheldon has it? I really hope he makes a speedy recovery. On the flipside, if he is still recuperating next week, I would be very pleased for Philip Arran if he did get a chance to strut his stuff as Bernadette - methinks 2nd understudies very rarely get much opportunity to go on, so good luck to Mr Arran if it transpires.

Discount codes?

Hi,

A friend is visiting London and looking for a ticket, but the only discount code I can find is for Thursday matinees.

Are there any others?

Thanks for any help,

Mark
#521

Discount codes?

Nit many, its still doing great business!
#523

Discount codes?

From what I know, Broadway yes, Toronto probably not.
#524

Discount codes?

For the North American jaunt, I wonder if the producers are going to pay for a new bus to be built, or are they going to use the one from Australia or even possible London?
#525

Discount codes?

Most certainly the London design along with any future special effects they will develop before it arrives on the Great White Way.
It it ever gets to be staged down under again they will also use the new design for London, it will be expected now.
