Priscilla is sadly ending its engagement at the Venetian four weeks earlier than scheduled. July 21 will be the final performance in Vegas. I guess it will not be getting a sit down.
It's a shame - it could have done really well. I didn't even know it was in Vegas until it opened.
Ouch. My friends saw it tonight and loved it.
So what is the cast going to do? are they just going to get a break until San Francisco on Aug. 21? Is it just this stop that's cancelled- or is the Tour done.
Robin -- your statement makes no sense, the reason it's closing early is because its NOT doing well.
When did it open?
Previews started 6/18 and was meant to run to 8/18.
Cast seems to be relieved to be getting out of 100 plus heat. Tour will resume at next stop.
Can't say I didn't see this coming.
I didn't even know it was in Las Vegas, and I'm in Arizona which is a hop and a skip away. They really should have promoted this more. I heard they aren't really promoting it in Vegas either.
Summer in Vegas what a stupid time to expect a lot of tourists.
Unless you're Celine Dion or Cirque de Something.

Or Cirque Du Celine- the one production people go to HOPING to see the star fall to her death.

I LIVE in Vegas, and I didn't even know it was here.
STOP IT. That's mean, Joe. I've gone to Vegas thrice to see Celine's show. She is just breathtaking and stunning and amazing and gorgeous and spectacular and every other perfect adjective you can think of.
Diva, I passed a bagel through my nose after your comment!

Truly, love of Celine DIion is the most inexplicable of mental illnesses.
Wow! I lived in Vegas as well and had NO idea it was playing there!
dramamama - I meant that its a show that could have done well in Vegas, but it did poorly as noted by its early closing.
Dramamama is just living up to the name! Pay no attention. LOL
Broadway shows don't do well on strip and never will.
I still don't understand how his statement makes any sense. How can you say it 'can do well' when obviously it didn't?
Isn't Rock of Ages doing quite well there?
I do think with the right advertising it could have done better then it did. They should have a made a big splash when entering Vegas- instead of treating at just another tour stop. They should have done publicity stunts- i.e. Characters invading shopping malls and the casino passing out flyers. A decked out bus going up and down the strip, photo op with characters near the theatre, weird disco cocktails being served at a bar near by, and of course the cast recording blasting all over.
Joe
Nice to see you are open minded about a star you do not like but others do
A bit mean spirited
Dramamama, the key word is "CAN" do well. Meaning not necessarily but possibly could do well.
Is/has THE LION KING been the only successful musical on the strip?
Jersey Boys.
