Anyone know which 2 (of the 5 below) are staying for the Broadway run:

C. David Johnson (Bob)
Thom Allison (Ensemble, u/s Bernadette, u/s Miss Understanding, u/s Jimmy)
J. Elaine Marcos (Cynthia)
Susan Dunston (Swing, u/s Diva, u/s Shirley, u/s Marion, u/s Cynthia)
David Lopez (Swing, u/s Jimmy)

"...there are only two Canadians in the cast. (There were two more, but their jobs were eliminated just before Christmas in a move positively Scrooge-like in its insensitive timing.)"

My guess is that Johnson and Marcos are staying, but I also would have thought Thom Allison would come along too.

David Lopez isn't travelling with the show.

The article is incorrect as it states that there are only 4 Canadians in the cast, when there are 5. David Lopez is confirmed to be gone (via Tony Sheldon's blog). Thom Allison's blog says he is still going. I'd assume the second person cut is Susan Dunstan (female swing). I can't see them cutting Johnson or Marcos.

And the article is specifically Canadian. I wonder if there are others (Americans) that were let go as well.

Interesting idea for an article, but I don't think that the author's complaint is merited. The production is an out of town try out, with the intention of transferring (at least mostly) in one piece to New York in a timely manner. The Toronto production of Rock of Ages is a different animal since it is a sitdown with plans to play Toronto and only Toronto.

The other thing that the author neglects to mention is that (I would presume) all of the stage hands and most, if not all, of the musicians are from Toronto. On a tour, there are usually about 4 musicians that travel with the production and also very few stage hands that travel with the production, not to forget the front of house staff and theatre management who are local. Therefore, his assertion that that these productions do not do anything for the Toronto artistic community is also incorrect.

Whatever happened to class?
