So I recently tried to put my well-worn copy of the Vanessa Williams Kiss of the Spider Woman on my Itunes and it wouldn't read. Assuming it was just old, I purchased a new copy used. It too, wouldn't load with any of the music applications on the PC. And then finding a 3rd copy super cheap, I still had issues with it playing. I adore this recording, and it's frustrating I can't get it on my ipod, baffled as to why. Plays fine in the CD player. Anyone else had issues with this or know of a fix?
Had the same experience with a PC. Switched to Mac and put it right into Itunes.
I had the same problem! I also ended up buying a new/used copy and itunes read the new one.

My copy would NEVER play the first track. I could rewind from from the second track into the first track, but just hitting play on virtually every CD player and computer I tried it on would cause a momentary pause and then immediately skip to the second track. I also could not import that first track into itunes on either of my Macbooks that I've owned or any of my old PC laptops.
I didn't realize this was a wide spread issue. I wonder what went wrong with the manufacturing.

Mine too. Weird.
Is it because it pushes the 80 minute time barrier? I know I've had the same problem with a few pop albums that do when I've tried to rip them using iTunes.
My first and replacement copies didn't work. So I used my friend's burned copy and it worked. I'm glad I'm not the only one.
Glad it's not just me! Thanks everyone!
Maybe I'll try it on my friend's MAC and see if that helps.
