re: Publicity shot of Rosie in FIDDLER

That's why it's called acting. She's not playing Rosie O'Donnell. She's playing Golde. So no, you won't hear that on stage.

I hope they have a kickass dialect coach then, munk. I've never seen her play any role without her own accent.

DP:
The women you write about are legends. Marian Seldes, is one of the greatest actors of all time.
I just think it is unfair to make fun of the woman before her performance. She has also done so much for Broadway!I wish people would give her a break.
I have never met Rosie, but my Father (when he was alive, coached a womans softball team in the park and Rosie would hang out with my Dad, he said she was a great person)
I wish people would leave her alone.

Corine, by using the word "great" you have put Rosie O'Donnell in the same class as Marian Seldes and Zoe Caldwell. Had you chosen the adjective "decent" your observation would have been valid. Instead, you come off as being foolish.

I actually love me some Rosie however I do have a hard time seeing her as a Russian Orthodox Jew!

Threadjacking for a second:

WonderBoy...you avatar gives me pause. Because I have that EXACT photo hanging in my cubicle here at work. Right next to my full-color blow up of Liza and David's wedding pic (you know the one...with Michael J. and Elizabeth T).

If she is as bad as an actress as she was on Queer as Folk this past and final season..the Minskoff will be burning to the ground!!

Robbiej. I love you for having that hanging in your cubicle! That made my day! Of course I know which Liza picture you are referring to. What kind of homosexual do you take me for? Annie

Hotel -- I was just going to bring up her work on Queer as Folk . . . I never knew why they didn't have her on sooner until I saw her work on the show . . . it was simply dreadful! I couldn't decide if she was playing mentally challenged or what. I think her character mentioned that she was OCD, but I didn't get that either. It just felt like she was dropped in there to look frumpy, do 2 shows and then disappear. That's all I got out of it.

And we KNOW she can't sing, not that Golde needs to belt out an F or anything, but still . . . I hope she does well, anyway.

Wonderboy,

Other pictures adorning my cube include Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman, Farrah Fawcett on a skateboard and my two prized possessions: Joan Crawford wearing a girdle and being fitted by Edith Head and Whitney Houston being baptized in the River Jordan.

Good times.

Well, in any case, I wish her and the rest of the cast the best.

This revival will soon close and, though I am thankful I was able to see FotR twice on Broadway, I hope it will be revived again in its original form.
