Question about Elaine Paige's forthcoming dvd

Posted: 12/23/09 at 2:06pm

I'm a huge Elaine Paige fan, and was thrilled to read on her site that her recent concert in Australia will be released on dvd in January.

North America is Region 1 for dvd viewing. According to her site, the dvd will be Region Free in the PAL format. Will I be able to watch it on my American dvd player? Or, would I be able to watch it on my computer?

Have you heard her CD reflecting on her career? Interesting.
( There is no mention of her time in 'Drowsy' haha)

I haven't heard the live cd. But, I sure would like to buy it. I saw EP in "Drowsy" in July of 2007...loved it!

I have the CD, it's really good. The programme for the concert mentioned Drowsy, as does her autobiography "Memories" - Some really fantastic photographs of the production in there.

Can't wait for the DVD. If it is region free id assume you can watch it on your DVD player, and if not it would almost certainly work on a computer.

I would think that it would be able to be viewed on a Region Free dvd player. But, it's in PAL format, and the Region Free player may not have that feature...

This is the CD that I've been on about.
Is this the same performance that is to be released on DVD.

That's the one, although there are songs missing from the CD that will be on the DVD including Small Packages (GREAT song written for EP especially by Styles and Drew).

I'm not an EP lover by a long shot but it is an Ok CD.

For those with Sky Arts, it is being shown all over christmas in an edited highlights version. It's not bad really, her voice sounds better than it has for years, and the mini-performances for Sunset Boulevard, Piaf, Sweeney and Chess are quite good, Sweeney especially!

Here's a review that I posted on the Main Broadway Board last year, after seeing EP in concert again....

I'll buy the dvd and watch it on my home computer.

Maybe the dvd will be released in the US, in the proper format? Let's hope!
