Will they make that much though? This isn't me being sarcastic; I'm genuinely asking:
Have a lot of people on here head of this band?
This band has been touring all over the country. I believe they came to Boston once or twice as part of the Broadway Across America season.
Because a lot of people like the Beatles, I predict a healthy run. On the other hand, perhaps this would do better during summer months.

It's a sh*tty show.
It's clearly a placeholder for Phantom II: Electric Boogaloo.
And I always heard The Fab Faux were supposed to be a better Beatles tribute.

Yeah. It's been doing the touring circuit for awhile. Especially the smaller, more random houses. Like the non-eq tours do.
Well, at least the show will now have an actual reason to play as part of a touring Broadway season now that it will have actually played on Broadway.
It was a part of our season last year here in Denver. I attended opening night and really enjoyed the show. It was interesting the way they did it. It is like a concert with some fun visuals. (They play some old commercials that are fun) and some really nice lighting. It was much better than I expected it to be.
We have a really good Beatles cover band here where I live that I can see for a lot cheaper.
This belongs in Las Vegas, not Broadway.
Rain is an offshoot of the original Beatlemania Broadway company that played in the Seventies. So it has a Broadway pedigree, if not being entirely a traditional book musical.
JMP, have you seen the show?
The show isn't really an offshoot of Beatlemania. They have used some of the people from Beatlemania to perform in this show though. Rain was around before Beatlemania just not as a full blown show like it is now.
"JMP, have you seen the show?"
Nope. And not really interesting to see it, either, frankly.
I give it til Opening Night.
JMP, no offense, but you really can't say it belongs in Vegas if you haven't seen it. I honestly was not expecting as good of a show as I saw when I went in. I am a Beatle's fan so that was a plus but I came out of the theater impressed.
"you really can't say it belongs in Vegas if you haven't seen it."
It's a reasonable opinion based on what I read.
If you are a fan of the Beatles, then you'll enjoy RAIN. These guys are all excellent muscians and it's a treat to see many songs beyond Sgt. Pepper performed live. (The Beatles did studio recordings after a certain point). The original arrangmenets are loyal and live... along with a few enhancements.
I think there are plenty of Beatles fans that will support this. If Movin' Out played on Broadway, why not RAIN? It's a fun, sing a long show....IMO.

If you like the Beatles than you will miss out on a good show. The show isn't just a string of songs played back to back. But, of course, we are antitled to our opinions. Again, having seen it, I don't find your opinion reasonable. JMO

I'm seeing this in Philadelphia next week, and I'm excited.
This is the 3rd or 4th time around in Philly in 3 yrs....and not in small houses. Twice @ Academy of Music and I think this time @ the Merriam (?). Both seat 1,000+ and it was fairly sold out when I saw it both times.
RAIN has been around for a long time as at least one of the members who plays Paul has been with them for about 15 yrs. (I need to look in my program for exact dates).
The band started back in the Seventies in Los Angeles as a cheap cover band called "Reign" that included Beatles tunes in their set. After lawsuits from Apple Corps, the Beatles' company, finally shut down Beatlemania several years after it had managed to be a hit, the new manager of "Reign" (a/k/a the current keyboard player) hired a bunch of ex-Beatlemania people, changed the name to the more Beatles-appropriate RAIN, and brought the show on the road. Two of the band's current members (and two of the alternates) were original cast members of Beatlemania.
