THANK YOU NYCbabe and MYNAMEINLIGHTS! lol. My thing is, is that you have to give respect go get it. i have respect for other MelB fans that are one this board - even the ones who joined just because of her. For example JasonX, i have respect for you, you have your opinions, you disagree with others opinions but you are respectful in the ways you go about it. There is no one here telling him to not stay on this board. Maybe that is something to tkae into consideration.

Here are my views on MelB performing in RENT. She def looks the part in the pictures. Wasnt overly impressed with the radio commercial. My main concern is her British accent - have been since i heard about her joining the cast. I have heard that it is noticable during her performace and makes some of the words come out strange. This is just stuff i heard, not stuff i heard personally. I am against Stunt casting in general, so i am not thrilled that she is in the show now. I am seeing her in tomorrow's matinee show. If she is good. i will come back and post that i thought she was good. I will have respect for her as Mimi in the role, but still wont be thrilled that she is casted in the show. If she wasnt good, i will let you all know my dislike for her as Mimi. I am upset at the fact that costumes were changed for her as well as some of the blocking. If its not broke, dont fix it! But that is the directors choices not hers.

There's no rule here that says "If your Mel B fan, your not allowed to post here" so I'll keep posting here and of course only in Mel B topics.

go AWAY! you are only here to defend a pop star who you have idolized to a creepy extent. i havnt seen mel in rent, and i dont know if she is any good or not, but you arent making me want to see her by bitching about it every time someone says that they didnt enjoy her performance. you are so extrene and defensive it seems like you realize that her shortcomings may actually exist, but have to pretend they dont because then you'd have to spend a day tearing down old spice girl posters off of your wall, and who wants to do that when they can spend that time annoying people on broadwayworld.com?

Dear StateOfJade, if you have hard times READING I will QUOTE exactly what I said "I am happy to know that people on these boards are a lot MORE open minded than I first thought."

This does not include JUST KarenWalker, it's a general statement. I actually read some humble opinions with a back up info given, learned quite a lot about the Broadway, already met and started talking to a few people from here. Which is ONLY a positive thing. So that is the whole Broadway boards I was talking about. Unfortunately there are always some pitiful exceptions and one of them is YOU. Cheers!

You mean in your OPINION, Mel B has talent. Just because people's opinions differ from your own doesn't mean that we're making it up.


I am simply doubting your creditability that you had actually went and saw the play with Mel B in it. In other words, you are actually making stuff up about Mel B which isn't true without seeing the play FIRST.

for the record, I think Mel B sounds incredible. I'm not a fan of hers I never liked the Spice Girls and I don't usually like listening to anyone except the original cast, but it sounds to me (based on the commercial) that she does an exceptional job. Vocally at least.......

WHO are you to comment on my "comebacks" in the first place, since NOTHING from what I've said was somehow related to YOU. Still I was polite enough, didn't say anything negative and wasn't trying to be witty.
