Can someone point me in the direction of a cast list of the original original workshop/reading of RENT? And does anyone know what those people who didn't graduate to the OBC are up to now?
Thanks!

They are all in Anthony Rapp's book, which I don't have on me right now.
Anthony Rapp was Mark
Mark Setlock (I think!) was Angel
Sarah Knowlton was Maureen
Daphne Rubin-Vega was Mimi
Don't remember the rest.
Mark: Anthony Rapp
Roger: Tony Hoylen
Mimi: Daphne Rubin-Vega
Collins: Pat Briggs
Angel: Mark Setlock
Maureen: Sarah Knowlton
Joanne: Shelley Dickinson
Benny: Michael Potts
Blockbuster Rep: Erin Hill
Ensemble: Deidre Boddie-Henderson, Gilles Chiasson, Sheila Kay Davis, John Lathan, Jesse Sinclair Lenat
Was that off the top of your head, Stephen?
Nice!
I figured it probably was. You little RENThead, you!
Ah, I've haven't been a RentHead for quite sometime. I just have an elephant's memory (and if I don't stop eating...ass.)
Once a RENThead, always a RENThead.
I'm still a Mizzie...just not as hardcore as I once was. Thankfully.
(Good to see Snarky McManBitch has made a triumphant return. He has been missed)
All Hail the King of Rentheads....
Now for the $14 million dollar question, what are these people up to now? None of their names sound familiar.
Crap, imagine coming THAT close to that much success. Wow!
Michael Potts is in Grey Gardens right now.
Daphne Rubin-Vega is in Les Miz.
True, Katie.
I suppose I'll always be a RentHeadMizzie at heart.
As for what they are doing now...I haven't the slightest idea except for the obvious ones. I recommend doing a google search.
Mark Setlock and Shelley Dickinson appeared in Rent as understudies and swings. Setlock went on to a Drama Desk nominated turn in Fully Committed in 2000.
Sarah Knowlton was in short runs of Skylight later in 1996 and then the bomb revival of On the Town in 1998.
Michael Potts did Lennon last year, and is currently in Grey Gardens.
Erin Hill was in Titanic, then Cabaret, then Urinetown as a swing.
Gilles Chiasson had a decent role in the OBC of The Scarlet Pimpernel, then appeared in The Civil War and as an ensemble member in Bax Luhrmann's La Boheme.
John Lathan also showed up in The Scarlet Pimpernel later in its run, but not until after a short run in The Capement.
These results are all courtesy of ibdb.com. I suggest Google if you're interested in learning about the others. Alas, I, as a non-Renthead, am not.

That's not the original original. That's just the group that got to record the demo.
They didn't record the original original demo. Jonathan Larson, Tony Hoylen and Sarah Knowlton did .
I stand (well, sit actually) corrected.
