For all those who have seen the movie numerous times and still thinks the women disapears during santa fe... GET GLASSES! I heard about her from this board and when I went payed close attention. She gets up (you see in one shot), couple quick cuts later you see her walkover to sit down behind jesse on the pole, next big shot she is there. It is not a blooper, but dur to editing you do not see her clearly get up and cross. But at no time is she unaccounted for. IF you stare at jesse and do not look at the background I see how you will miss her, but it is no way a blooper, blunder, or mistake.
In the background of one shot (I believe it is where Mark, Maureen, and Joanne have just left Alexi Darling's office) you see a "CVS Pharmacy". Now this is the late 80's and until, (I don't know...'95?) CVS was still "Arbor Drugs".

Here is trivia about the movie could not find bloopers if I do I will post it until then here:
Director Chris Columbus considered casting "American Idol: The Search for a Superstar" (2002) contestant and "Rent" (1996) Broadway replacement cast member Frenchie Davis as Joanne Jefferson, but decided upon Tracie Thoms for the role.
Spike Lee was for a long time attached to direct. Other rumored directors were Sam Mendes, Rob Marshall, and Baz Luhrmann.
Some of the names that are tagged on the walls are the names of WB studio tour guides.
Taye Diggs (Benny), Wilson Jermaine Heredia (Angel), Jesse L. Martin (Collins), Idina Menzel (Maureen), Adam Pascal (Roger), and Anthony Rapp (Mark) are all from the Original Broadway Cast of RENT in 1996 and are playing their original roles.
During production, an Internet blog was set up on the film's official website. Blog entries were contributed by each of the principal cast members, Chris Columbus, and Julie McCollum. Occasionally, video updates would also be posted, which mostly featured footage (filmed by Anthony Rapp) of the actors on set.
Idina Menzel sang "Over The Moon" live, rather than lip-syncing it.
The metal arch sculpture on Maureen's performance space during "Over the Moon" is a homage to the Broadway show. On the stage of the show, a similar metal sculpture is used throughout different scenes as a Christmas tree, a church steeple, and other various scenery pieces.
Maureen's performance space is a reference to the set of the Broadway production.
The MUTE posters on the wall of the loft are a reference to Adam Pascal's old band.
The guitar riff Roger plays throughout the show is "Musazetta's Waltz" from La Boheme.
The song that Mark mentions in "La Vie Boheme", "Musetta's Waltz", is from "La Boheme", an opera that inspired Rent.
not really blooper, just interesting-- when, at the end of Another day, mimi is outside singing up to Roger, it almost seems like she's been to the life support meeting and should be our first hint that she may be sick as well. Because when the group comes round the corner, they are singing the song from the life support meeting
In the scene where Maureen, Joanne, and Mark are walking to the Buzzline office they walk by an Au Bon Pain. Also when they are walking down the sidewalk to Mark's bike the cars parked on the road are 1990's taxis, but if you look at the taxis driving down the road they are from 2005. I guess it was to expensive to block off the whole street.

When Mark is in the Buzzline truck during What You Own, the camera focuses on a sign on a light post that says "NYC Spring 2005"... or, at least, I thought it said that, it is a very fast shot.

In I'll Cover You it looked liked a mic cord was hanging from underneath Angel's jacket. It wasn't visible in every shot but I saw it several times. Not sure if a body mic was being used since they would have dubbed everything in studio anyway.

anyone else notice the MUTE posters in their loft? One of Adam's old bands.
AND, this is what I was told at least seeing as how i'm not a car buff, but when it's supposed to be 1989.. the Range Rover that Taye pulls up in in the beginning is actually a 2005 Range Rover... can anyone verify? I mean, I don't personally care, just a random fact.
i found the mute posters to be deliberately reminiscent of the obc rent posters.
Okay for whomoever said the girl in Santa Fe doesn't go missing, I know exactly when it is, the next time you see it, after she's crossed over to sit behind them (which I did see her do) it's when Collins points at Angel, Mark, and Roger for the "gain, gain, gain" part, she's not there until after they cut back from Roger.
I was specifically watching for that part last night when I saw it because I never, ever catch bloopers like that.
(And hopefully that's coherent, I just woke up)
The photo on at least one of those MUTE posters is new, from a photoshoot done for the film. So, I'm not sure about the others around the apartment, but as far as that one is concerned, it's not *actually* a poster from when Adam was in MUTE. They just took the name and made that the name of Roger's band, too.
'twas Adam's idea, though.
I was also trying to figure out the New York sign...I didn't see a 2005 on it, but it defniitley looked like one of the newer signs.
I feel dumb for even saying this...
During Today 4 U, when Adam is being shot head on, he is tapping his hand, when he's being shot from behind, he's not tapping.
Maybe he got tired of tapping?

Right before ICY, if you look closely, you can see that the subway exit where they come up is completely and totally fake. You can see it's just a stand sitting on a sidewalk.
I'm surprised no one's mentioned that yet, I thought it was pretty obvious. But it was really funny. :o)

hmm...I thought I read a while back that that subway stop was real, but just no longer in use. But I suppose you NYC-ers would know more than I :)
Oh I know a major blooper.......
THE WHOLE MOVIE!
It stunk to high heaven and was an embarrassment.
Increble eye you have there! I would call this continuity errors rather than bloopers, which most films have cos its so hard to shoot an entire scene in one day, hence picking up the scene at a later date for shooting can really cause some continity errors if the script supervisor does not have polaroids and of the first day of shooting for a scene and is not paying attention. But all please tell me more of these glitches, I love to watch for them! Good thread!
cheers Ajay

I saw the MUTE posters, too! I leaned over to my mom during Another Day and said,"Do you see those posters? The ones that say MUTE? That was Adam's band before RENT! The band broke up and he was broke so he decided to audition for RENT."
She turned to me and replied, "It is very, very sad that you know all of this."

Hey I noticed that in Sante Fe when I was watching Behind the scenes on E! I recorded it a while ago i watch it everyday it is not as good as the phantom one. The phantom movie is not better but how they made the phantom of the opera behind the scenes. It felt longer than the Rent one. I didn't notice that in the movie though. I will when I see it again this saturday. 3rd time
"She turned to me and replied, "It is very, very sad that you know all of this." "
hahaha yea.. i tried to have a conversation about rent the other day with two other girls but everything they said i had to keep on correcting.
them: you know jonathan died of AIDS
me: *GASP* whattt NO NO NO NO NO.
them: jonathan used to work at the life cafe, thats why its in the show and the movie
me: HUH?! not even close..(explains to them where he worked/why they used life cafe)
ugh..its a huge responsibility being so knowlegable. :-/
