Hey everyone, I really enjoyed the movie, but there was one MAJOR problem I had with it. My problem was the fact that the sound was really bad. I saw it on Wednesday and the sound sounded worse than my television at home, and then I saw it yesterday and it was better, it was just missing a lot. I don't know if it's just the 2 different theatres I saw it in, but please let me know if anyone else experienced this. I just REALLY wanted to feel the base on RENT and Out Tonight, but it just didn't work! Let me know!

~ it must be the sound system that particular theatre is utilizing
i experienced absolutely no problems with the audio when i saw it
~ i went to two different area theatres
i did notice however that different versions of the songs were used for the actual film and they differed from the versions used on the soundtrack cd...

the theaters i saw it in had great sound. the bass really added to the intensity of out tonight and Rent, i thought it was a great choice to use. i mightbe just been the theater you saw it in, b/c it was very clear and loud at the 2 theaters i went to.

I didn't find the sound to be a problem. I was actually very worried about the mixing from what I had heard on the aoundtrack, but they fixed it up quite well for the film.

I actually commented on the sound when I first saw the movie this past Monday and again on Wednesday. I went in expecting to be blown away, accustomed as I am to being able to feel the bass in the floor, but the volume of the entire film just seemed that it should have been kicked up quite a few notches. I had no problem with the mixing, but in a theater with surround sound, I'd enjoy having to hold my ears a bit.

i did have to hold my ears a bit, maybe it was just louder where i was. either that or my ears are extremely sensitive.

The film itself I don't think had problems, I think it was the theater.

Like, the ruin down theater doesn't have great sound to begin with, but the newer-better theater sounded prefect.

I saw it at the main movie theater in Boston, and I thought that the lyrics of a couple of the songs were drowned out by the bass, especially the title song. I don't know whether that has to do with the theater sound system or not.

I saw it at the Ziegfeld in the City and thought the sound was fantastic. I also saw it at a local theatre and the sound was terrible, like a busted radio. So it's the respective theatres. I was actually thinking, since Rent is a musical, it may have a chance at getting an Oscar nomination for Best Sound Mixing. It was much better than last year's Phantom, that's for sure.

My theatre sounded great. It was almost like....whatever person was closer to you and they were singing, they were louder. Sort of. Like...exaggerated surround sound.

I saw it at the mall...sound system wasn't too great. At some loud/high-pitched parts, it did that weird crackly "I can't handle it" thing that speakers do. But everything else sounded good.
