When I first read the title, I was thinking Mario Lopez, so glad this was not about him going into in The Heights.
I'd be curious to see who they have her play. She's too old to have completed her first year of college and too young to play one of the parents. I guess she could play the role of the salon owner? I just hope they keep her husband out of the movie.

Was I the only one who got REALLLY scared and thought this was about MARIO Lopez?
I thought J.Lo was producing the movie version. She'd definitely play Daneila in that case.

As long as she's Daniela, it doesn't sound like a terrible idea. If she wanted to play any of the other roles, it would be beyond stupid and I would laugh at her.

I definitely thought it was about Mario Lopez and went "This better be a joke."
Personally, I'd like her to stay away from the movie too, but I guess as long as she played Daniela it wouldn't be TOO horrible.

I too, thought that Mario Lopez was going to be announced as the next Usnavi when I saw this thread title.

I'm sure she'll pop up somewhere in the proposed film if it even happens. I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope she doesn't direct it. I wouldn't mind seeing her as Daniela, although I think someone like Rosalyn Sanchez or Ana Ortiz would be much more appropriate for the part.

I too thought it was going to be Mario Lopez as the next Usnavi and was ready to cringe. I would rather see her as Daniela than directing the movie. I also agree with no Marc Anthony. Also please no Antonio Banderas.

I actually think she would be a great fit for Daniela. Surprised I didn't think of it. It's probably the only film role I could watch her in without cringing. She shouldn't direct it though. That would be the deal breaker.

i always envision Ana Ortiz as Daniella. But Lopez would be a great second choice. Also I could see Ortiz playing Carla next to Lopez's Daniella. That might work out nicely, too.

lol yeah i would never EVER cast hudgens as Nina. I had never thought of America Ferrara - (if you're serious) that's an interesting take on it...
